We have firm evidence back to Sarah Sturge whose son Christopher was born out of wedlock and was bapt 1699 bur 1771 at Frampton Cotterill. The father was Samuel Holder, she being his mistress. She later married ? England and died in 1725 (Will Glos 1725/266)
Who was her father? There was a Nehemia Sturge who m Joanne Roberts and they had a "filia" born at the right time at Frampron Cotterell.
He was of the same generation as Joseph ll (d 1710/11)
