Well, I'm still at that "brick wall." Had a researcher trying to find him in Houghton county records, but no luck. Maybe someday I'll find my elusive greatuncle.

Re: locating place of burial

I just found on an incoming passenger list from Gothenburg,
my grandfather and his brother, Matts Alarik Sulasalmi arriving Hull, England 22 May 1891, destination Calumet,MI.
I know the "Romeo" was a feeder ship to Hull and passengers were probably sent by train to Liverpool for passage to their destination. I now strongly believe that Matts probably died in Calumet, most likely as the reult of an accident,as he was so young. Does anyone have any idea how to find a death in Houghton county in 1892?

locating place of burial

Trying to locate place of burial of my grandfather's brother, Matti Alarik Sulasalmi. He was born July 1,1864 in Finland and died October 20,1892 somewhere in the US. No records found among family. Does anyone have a suggestion how to proceed? Grandfather settled in UP of Michigan, so I assume he probably settled somewhere in that area.

Perhaps we are related. My grandfather Gabriel Sulasalmi was born in Salmivaara, Kuolajarvi(Salla) parish, Oulu province, now Lappi. He was one of 7 children. As far as we know, only he and his brother Matti came to the USA. Please write again.
