Hi,
I'm the g-g-g grandaughter of Mark Supple, the brother to your Thomas Supple. I have a Supple family reunion picture with about 20 Supples listed in addition to Thacker & Carters. A friend of the family, Jane Wright, labeled the picture many many years ago. IF there is someone in particular you are looking for, I'm glad to see if they are in the picture. I would love to compare notes.

Jennifer Meadows Clark

Hi,
I'm researching the Supple family and unfortunately, I'm totally lost and have absolutely nothing to go on.

Thank you for your reply - it is very helpful to know that the Supples and Tichbornes of the 1800s could have at least known eachother. How distant is the connection between White Tichborne and Sir James?

Unfortunately I don't have any more information than I have listed, other than a copy of a letter that suggests the Supple/Schombergs and Tichbornes moved in the same social circle. If the James Supple / Anne Supple line is connected to the Schombergs, even if at a later date, or if I could find a connection between Charles Marsh Supple and the family of Sir James Tichborne it would answer a particularly big question. In particular I would like to find out if Charles Marsh Supple could have known Sir James' eldest son.

Mary Jane Gourd was my gg grandmother. Somewhere in my boxes of stuff I have a copy of her marriage and death certificate.
My records indicate she was born in Cornwall England (St Tanze) and died in July 10, 1918. Burial in Riverside Cemetery (state unknown) possibly Ontonagan Village, Michigan (age65/2mth/17days).
I am very much interested in any SUPPLE, CHAMBERLAIN information anyone is willing to share.
Dolly "Dorathy" Lavina Chamberlain (11/28/1915 - 7/19/1998)was my grandmother, her father Richard Sawyer Chamberlain was Mary's son.

I believe that your Ann Supple possibly married my great-grandfather, William Richardson. They could have come from the Dublin area, but they were living in Luggacurran, which is about 50 miles from Dublin. William was an architect and was born around 1826. Anna was his first wife and died sometime after 1865. I believe that she was some years younger than William. If this sounds like your Ann Supple, I have more information.

Michael,

Thank you for your response. Actually, I've had a chance to learn much about my Irish roots through Jim Moriarty, a second cousin living in Ennis, Co. Clare. I know that Thomas was the son of David Supple and Bridget Stritch. He had a couple of brothers, Joseph (came to the US) and David (passed away in 1923). He also had two sisters, Johanna (Jim Moriarty's grandmother) and Honora Josephine. I assume you are related through David.

Thomas came to America where he met and married an Irish girl, Julia Nally from County Mayo. Together they had three boys. The eldest, Thomas David, is my father. The others were John Joseph and Richard Bernard. All are now deceased.

My father married Philescene Kulot and they had five boys. The eldest is Thomas (what else?). I'm son number two. My other brothers are Stephen, Kevin and Rory.

I've been able to visit Ireland three times. On one occassion, we spent the night in Balleyheigue, went to Flahives Pub, and had a grand tour of the area courtesy of Jim.

I've done a lot on the family genealogy, especially as it relates to the family in America.

Thanks for writing. I look forward to more information.
Anna Supple

I just received this information - I have no clues on the Supple family. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Anna Supple married William Richardson in the Dublin area.
Guessing on the date would be 1860-1861 as my Great Grandfather, Clement (their first born) was born in 1862. They had four children: Clement, Harry, Lester and Harriet.
Clement came to the U.S. in 1880. Lived in Illinois and Iowa. Harry moved to Australia, Lester to New Zealand and Harriet born in 1868 - married a Mr. Goodrich and lived in England.
If their first born was in 1862 I could only guess William and Anna (Supple) Richardson were born about maybe late 1830's or maybe 1840's?
Bobbie
Not much - but that is all I have.

I am related to the Thomas Supple you speak of. I can remember as a child visiting the farm, in Iowa, of Aunt Sabina and Uncle Tom with my Grandparents John & Bridget Supple. I also met many of their children and grandchildren. I specifically recall meeting Johnny Supple. I went into the barn where he was milking a cow, the old fashioned way. He squirted the milk in my face. That for me was a realization, milk isn't cold when it comes from a cow! Of course, I knew little at that time being below the age of ten and a city girl from Chicago at that.

Hello to a possible family member from an American Supplee! I have seen your posts on the message boards and you seem to have a lot of Ireland Supplee Family knowledge. Will you share with me? I am new to this and am always stopped on the shores of Ireland.

I am descended from William Supple (abt. 1877-1919), apparently from County Cork. He emigrated to the USA during the 1890s. He had a brother, Richard (abt. 1865-?), who apparently emigrated earlier. They both settled in Philadelphia, PA, and their name changed from Supple to Supplee.

William married Bridget Agnes Brown (1877-1965), who was born in England, but whose Irish parents were John Brown (1854-?) and Mary ___ (1855-?).

William and Agnes lived in Philadelphia and had three sons:
John Joseph Supplee (1901 – 1952)
William F. Supplee (1906 – ?)
Richard Thomas Supplee (1909 – 1984)

Your input is greatly appreciated. I will be happy to share with you what I have about my branch of the Supplee family. Rochelle Supplee McEvoy

I know of no connection between Schomberg and Sir James T - can you give more detail?

However I do know of Tichborne/ Supple connection - White Tichborne married Anne Supple daughter and heir of James Supple a vintner who had bought an 'acre of gravel pits at a place called Picadilly' in London. On this was built Tichborne street, which was eventually demolished and the area is now Picadilly Circus. Unfortunately the Tichborne family no longer own it! I know of a full length portrait of James Supple.

White Tichborne was a direct ancestor of Sir James Tichborne (10th Baronet). He was an MP and memorials to him can be found in the main Church of Aldershot. His grandfather was Sir Benjamin Tichborne of Tichborne, Hampshire, 1st Baronet.

yours

Will Motley

Trying to find any links to my G G Grandfather John Supple born abt 1812 Dublin. He was married twice, his first wife died abt 1844. He remarried on 22-Jan-1849 to Catherine McAllister. I believe they had four children but i only know of John Joseph born in 1849. They all worked at The Zoological Gardens of Dublin (Dublin Zoo). John senior was unfortunate enough to become the only man in Ireland to die from a snake attack. He was working in the snake house during 1831 when he was attacked, he died three days later in Dr Steevens Hospital. John Joseph married Ellen Leech (born abt1855) in St James Dublin in 1875.They had 1 child Kate in Dublin in 1875 and moved to Manchester England where they had a further 5 children, Maria, Helena, Herbert, Francis and Agnes. I am the grandson of Maria and would to hear from anybody who knows anything about the family.
Regards Mike Dawson Manchester

Supples of Cork, Dublin, Manhattan and New Jersey, circa 1880-1920

My great-grandmother was Catherine (Kate, Kathleen) Supple, born about 1863-64 in Ireland. By 1881 she was living in Manhattan, by the early 1890’s she was married to Frederick Westerman, and together they had the following children: Margery, Edmond, Francis (Harry) and Julia.

The information I am looking for regards Kate’s parents; family history says that her parents were Edmond Supple and Elizabeth (Mary?) Miller or Millard of County Cork, but Kate’s death certificate says that her parents were John and Catherine Supple. A John and Catherine Supple of Dublin had a daughter, Catherine, born January 15, 1864; my great grandmothers birth date is shown as 15 JAN 1863 in Cork, Ireland on her death certificate.

Kate’s “brother” Edmond’s death certificate shows his parents as Edmond and Mary. There may be a connection to a Supple family in Hoboken, New Jersey; a John and Kate Supple there had a daughter named Marie (Mary), born 1879; she may appear in Ellis Island records as the 19 year old Mamie Supple who was born in Hoboken, traveled from Cork to Manhattan in 1898, and was traveling to see her aunt Mrs Westerman. In 1900 a Mammie Supple appears in the federal census living with Catherine and Frederick Westerman, and is identified as a niece.

I would like to confirm whether Edmond and Mary Supple of County Cork had children named Catherine, Edmond and John. If Catherine’s parents were not Edmond and Mary, then she had some other close relationship with Edmond and John: cousins?

I would also be interested in the Supple’s of Hoboken NJ, and any information about their parentage in Ireland.

Thanks, Kate
You listed the names of Vane, Vain in your posting. My ancestor, William Henry Vane, indicated he was from Ireland, possibly County Cork according to one relative. There is a listing of a William Vane who immigrated to the United States (New York) on board the Independence (Manifest ID#5354) 004 06-17-1851, embarked in Liverpool, England, listed as a 22 year old laborer. I am not sure if this is the William Vane who settled in Castine, Maine and married my great great grandmother, Sarah (Sally) Keeler Bartlett, on October 31, 1853 in Castine. He disappears between 1860-1870 and family stories say he left on the salt boat after the winter and abandoned the family. They were not sure if he returned to Ireland or England or remained in the US.
