I have a photo of Mrs. Sally Sutfin Sickly. The back of the photo reads, "Aunt Sally Sickly. Grandpa Sutfin's sister." It was taken in Geneseo, NY, possibly in the late 1800's. I would like to return the photo to her family. If you would like to see the photo, I can send it via e-mail. If you are related to her and want the photo, let me know.

My Great grandfther Lionel Erle Sutfin used to tell me that his father died when he was a young boy and his mother remarried. His death certificate here in CT has his father as Henry W. Sutfin and mother as Louise Searle Sutfin of the Troy NY area. I found a Henry W. Sutfin b.1861 d.1897 and Anna Louise Sutfin Mills buried at Ballston Spa Village cemetery near Saratoga NY. It says that Henry W Sutfin was Anna Louise Sutfin first husband. also buried in the same lot were Royal and Elizabeth Wiswall Sutfin. Royal was Henry's father according to the 1870 Potter NY index. The Stearns Family of Gorham and Rushville has John Sutfin b.1806 d. 1892 of Rushville and Elvira Stearns b. 1810 d. 1890 as the parents of 10 children. Royal, Lloyd, Madison, Lucius, Isabel, Julia, Elliott, Arthur, Mary, John. I am looking for the parents of John Sutfin of Rushville NY. rsutfin02@snet.net

Have you started the Sutphin web site yet? If so, where is it? I am researching a Sarah Dense b. 1770 Holland who named her son Richard Sutphin VanWey (NY). I am thinking that her mom may have been a Sutphin. Richard was the second son (the first being Charles) and it was customary for the Dutch to name the second son after the bride's father, so ....I am researching the possibility that Sarah's parents may have been Charles Vanwey and Mary Sutphin b. ca 1750-55???
