I now have learned that lacy (my great grandmother) parents were Henry suttles and Amanda sue Cassidy. Could this match any information you have on Arlie. I have no information on Arlie except that he lived in olive hill kent. Also could you send a link to your family tree. Serena Barger was my grandfathers sister. His name was Lucian Barger. Helen Was also his sister. I remember taking him down to helens house in the 60's. My grandmother was Mollie Suttles,daughter of Phillip Suttles and her mother was Cinthia. We all lived in Knoxville,Tn. at the time. I believe we are related. I am researching them now and having a problem with both of them.I would appreciate any info you may have.

John A. Suttles was a brother to my great-grandfather, Robert. I do not have anything back further than their father, William born in 1835. William was married to Elizabeth Cook. If you have anything back further or any tidbits about the family, I would love to hear from you.

The dates are somewhat later that my Henry unfortunately, but my review of other Suttle data that I have doesn't mention your Henry. And (after a quick look) I don't find Joseph Alexander either (I'll keep checking, but don't exprect to find anything.

actually henry's parents are joseph alexander suttles (1850-1894)and mary jane cole(1845-1919).

henry was born in march 1879 yocum station va and died sept 29 1967. amamnda was born oct 1880 kentucky and died in 1967.she is burried at lindsey chapel cemt kent. i have no clues as to whom ever parent is on both henry and Amanda. the only thing i know is that they had the following children: lacy may, mary jane, arlie w, sidna, john, joe, and edward suttles.lacy is my great grandmother so that make henry and amanda my 2nd great grandparents.hopefully this help anyone.thanks

i'm desparately seeking any information on the following people. My great grandmother is lacy may suttles. born july 22 1900. She had a sister mary jane, and two known brothers edward and Arly(arlie? not sure the spelling). the story been told that they grew up in olive hill kentucky. I'm not sure sure who there parents are but it could be a henry and susie suttles. Edward was in the miltary and station in Hawaii and remained there. Lacy daughter is susan Elizabeth and is very poor in health. I would love to be able to pass along any information that anyone can offer.

this is a long shot. I was just told about someone in my family marryed a Indian and that it was a looked at by many as a disgrace. i was wondering if this could be linked to Elizabeth. I have very little knowledge on the suttles. i know that my great grandmother is Lacy may suttles.She married a fredrick henry prater Sr. Lacy's parents are Henry and Susie Suttles. Choctaw woman married M H White in an Indian camp. M H was a Baptist minister with R E Lee. My grandfather Elbert Mathews is a direct decendent of hers.

I have a grandfather named John Suttles married to a Lettie Holt who lived in Cocke Co Tennessee. I was told that John's father was named William. Perhaps this is the same line. I think John's date of birth was april 16, 1869 and he died August 13, 1946.

My father was born 1899 in Eastern Tennessee near Newport. His Name was Charles M. Suttles. His father was John Henry Suttles married to Lettie Holt. They had 5 children. James, Charles, Cassie, VG and Stanley Suttles. If any of these ring a bell, let me know.

Hi: For some time now, I have been typing Barry Co., MO, newspaper items. I now have posted the years 1890 through 1913. And in among the listings there were a lot of Suttles surnames.

I am typing on the 1914 ones now and when I have the project finished it will go through 1921. But there are already a lot of papers listed and tons of information that will interest researchers of Barry Co., MO and the surrounding areas.

There is a search engine on the front page, and you will probably need it - but if you just want to walk through them, then just go down the page and you will see listed the Barry Co., MO Newspaper project.

I have the following info in my database, this info was given to me by another researcher Chet @ chneff1932@aol.com. My family is Presley Suttle of Sumner Tn. his son Strother Suttle bn abt 1807 had a son Joseph bn abt 1833, his son Jessie bn abt 1871 had a son name Clarence bn Aug 1893. Thats where my trail stops. My line runs off of Strothers brother Jehu, so have not really done to much research on Strother to date. Hope this might help some.

I'm looking for information on my great grandmother, lacey may prater/suttles. I know very little about her but his is what i do know. She married francis h prater and had the following children:Susan elizabeth, wayne(died at age 10), charlie, fredrich earl Jr(nickname buck), Margaret, breautice(died at 2 1/2), christine(died at 2 1/2), and annabell(died at 2 1/2)Most of my family is in the michigan area and i believe that the family was raised there. Hi, I am also looking for this line of Suttles. I believe Elizabeth Ann Suttles was his wife. She was the daughter of Isaac G. Suttles, Jr. and Lurana "Laurania" Lurany Caddell. Lurana's father was Benjamin Hiram Caddell, his wife was unknown, which leads me to believe she might have been on Indian descent since M.H. and Elizabeth were married in a Indian camp. I have a little more info on this if you would like it.

I don't know if you found what you are looking for regarding Marcus Suttle, I ran across your post trying to place an Elizabeth Suttles born c. 1815-1817. It could be he is the son of Joseph Isaac Suttle and Mary Mollie Doggett. They originally came from Virginia and there were only 4 Suttles families living in Rutherford in the 1800's apparently they are all related. If this is the Marcus you are looking for born in 1768 died in 1818, then Joseph Settle, Suttle is his father and Mary Molly Dogget is his mother. The father named his son Marcus also. Look it up on familysearch.com or the North Carolina Archives there is alot of information on the Suttles there.

William J. Suttles Grave marker. I give permission to have a marker placed on my Grandfathers Grave.
This would make our family very happy. Also would like to know where my grandmother is burried, Alma Simmons Suttles.John B. the son worked for the Railroad when the train derailed, he was burned very bad, he begged to die.If I find out about Edward, I will let you know. Looking for descendents of William J. Suttles. Need permission to place a military marker at his grave. These markers are free. All he has is a military cross to show that he was a Confederate Soldier. He buried next to 2 of his sons. Edward born 1866 and John B. born 1874. Edward and John never married or we cannot find any information on them. These men are buried in the Toccoa City Cemetery in Toccoa, GA (Stephens County).
