Greetings Suydam Family:

I own a framed print from the period of the American Civil War which is self-titled, "A Council of War In ’61”, and depicts A. Lincoln meeting with his principal military and political leaders in Washington D.C. at the beginning of the war. I purchased this print from a shop in Santa Barbara, CA perhaps 25 years ago.

On the reverse of the framed print, there is a small, hand-written label that reads as follows:

cetta Gordon Suydain. Shipped from T arming lou (not fully legible)
Ill. to California in Spring
of 1886.
