MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Virginia M. Swafford, 75, of 3450 Mulberry Ave., died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at Unity Hospital.
Memorial services will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Swanson of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in Edwards Cemetery, Oakville.
Mrs. Swafford was born on Sept. 26, 1925, in Muscatine, the daughter of George and Anna Howell Freers. She married Leland Swafford on Feb. 22, 1944, in Modesto, Calif.
She was a member of the Oakville United Methodist Church and the Ladies of the Moose.
Survivors include her husband, Leland Swafford of Muscatine; three sons, Larry L. Swafford and his wife, Linda, of Spring Hill, Fla., Marvin L. Swafford and his wife, Kathy, of Durant, and Jeffrey A. Swafford and his wife, Debra, of Chester, Ill.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond 'Bud' Freers of Muscatine; and one sister, E. Jean Wittler of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jacquiline O'Connor.
