Debbie,
I just found this web page again.
Let me explain my Swallow situation. I have recently received info from two completely different sources. One suggests that Wm Swallow was from Pontefract the other was that his name was Robert from Yorkshire born about 1790. Both sources (as well as our own family) known that he was rescued (along with two others) off the coast of PEI, Canada in early 180_ after an altercation onboard a British ship. Locals hid the men from search parties and they all married in the community. I must now believe that he was from some where in Yorkshire.
I guess what I'm looking for is a William or Robert Swallow b. 1790s in Pontefract, Yorkshire or somewhere in Yorkshire.
I did find evidents of a Rbt. Swallowe of Gawthorpe 1614 and a Christopher Swallow of Micklegate. Any help would be appreciated.
To answer your questions. No I've no knowledge of a Hannah, however Joseph is a common name in later generations and branches of my family.
