Pearl Swanson, the daughter of Carl and Maude (Blough) Swanson was born on February 24, 1918 at Loretto, Nebraska. She was baptized at the Loretto Methodist Church on April 3, 1918. Her family lived on a farm west of Loretto and Pearl attended rural school District #89 northwest of Loretto. After her fathers death in 1940, Pearl and her mother moved to Albion.
From 1944 to 1945 Pearl worked with her mother at the Crowell Memorial Home in Blair, NE. In 1946 they moved to Lincoln and managed Thackera Home. From 1947-1957 they worked in the Dietary Kitchen at Bryan Memorial Hospital, they then moved back to Albion. Pearl entered the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion on February 15, 1967, it was there that she passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at 87 years of age. Pearl enjoyed embroidery work, puzzles, paint by numbers, and Bingo. She also had quite a collection of stuffed animals.
Pearl is survived by sisters-in-law: Ruth Swanson of Lincoln; Hazel Swanson of El Sabrante, CA; along with nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers: Harold, Clarence, and Oscar in infancy; 1 sister Evelyn Johnson Wheeler.
