BUCYRUS: Delmer L. "Bud" Swearingen, 83, of Bucyrus, Ohio died Saturday, December 17, 2011 at his daughter's residence. She had been caring for him during his brief battle with cancer.
He was born October 11, 1928 in Meigs County, Ohio to the late Edison and Ella (Borham) Swearingen.
Delmer worked for Marion Power Shovel in Marion, Ohio.
He enjoyed working and tinkering with things in his garage.
He is survived by his daughter, Bunny (Mark) Studer of Bucyrus; grandson, Aric Studer and fiancée, Amy Felder of Mansfield, Ohio; step-grandchildren, Michelle (Shawn) Maiyer of Bucyrus, Matthew (Sheree) Studer of Crestline; step-great grandchildren, Amanda, Brooke and Dylan and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Swearingen of Florida.
In addition to his parents, Delmer is preceded in death by his wife, Stella (Mayer) Swearingen; two sons, Teddy and Edison Swearingen who died in infancy and his siblings, Dean, Della, Donna, Darrell, Dale, Doris, Dottie, Dana, Don, Delma, and Dwight.
Graveside funeral services were held Thursday, December 22 at Oakwood Cemetery.
