My book on the Sweet family says that Benoni Sweet from Rhode Island was know as Dr. Sweet and was considered to be the first of a long line of bonesetters. However it was his grandson Job Sweet that was know as the Great bonesetter. He worked during the revolutionary war and later he was know for restoring the dislocated hip of Colonel Aaron Burr's daughter Theodosia. Sources for include, "Recollections of Olden times, by Thomas R Hazard, RI. Sanborn 1879. Yankee (a magazine) for January, 1968
