I am searching for information on my grandfather's parents in Poland. Grandfather is Joseph (Jozef) Swiderski, born 11 May 1894 Poland, died 2 Jul 1971 Chicago). His sister: Eleanora Swiderski-Szkudelski of Ontario, Canada.
Parents of Joseph and Eleanora are: Joseph Swiderski and Apolonia Stefanski of Poland. I don't know where in Poland but suspect Eastern Poland near Russian border. Any information much appreciated; Thank You

I have been looking up my family and on my grandfathers side (Chester Kawryga) his mothers name was Constance or "Connie" Fwiderski. She married Stephen or Steven E. Kawryga. However in the case of Connie, there were no other Fwiderski's on record and instead Swiderski. I think I am related to the original poster. I live in central NY and a Stanley Swiderski settled in Syracuse in 1930 from poland. He was born in 1881 and his fathers name was probably Mathew. He married Anna Brzyski. I can tell you a few things. My father Walter F. Swiderski was grandpa's only living son. Walter Swiderski (grandpa) had my father, Walter F. who passed away on Sept.15, 2006. He was born Nov. 4, 1929. He had four sisters, Violet Swiderski (Trela)-she lives in Las Vegas, Patsy Correa (she just passed away this summer), Leona Walters (she passed away a few years ago), Marie (she passed away when I was a teenager. My father Walter F., had two daughters myself and my sister Susanne, Aunt Patsy had 3 girls they all live in Las VEgas, Aunt Violet had one daughter, Linda. Aunt Marie had 2 daughters (carol and Terry) and one son (Butchy). Aunt Leona had one daughter (Starlene)and two sons (Junior and Allen). It is great to hear that Auntie Elsie is still doing well. Does she still live at home? I know when my daughter was doing a report on our heritage dad had her call Auntie and ask her about everything. My grandpa was deceased already. My Aunt Pat and Uncle Tony (her husband) are buried at resurrection and so is Aunt Marie and UNcle Stanley. I also know Uncle Jack (Aunt Violets husband is out there).

We are distant cousins, (2nd removed?) I think.

Auntie Elsie's husband, Uncle John F., was a brother was my father Charles Mrozek, therefore we are related by marriage.

I was in Poland in the mid-1980's to look for the Mrozek, Kwak and the Wieczorek, Budzynski (my Mother's family) family heritage. I searched records from Rogoznik, (South Eastern)Poland and near Poznan, for the Mrozek-Kwak records and found the church that my grandparents, Andzej Mrozek and Angus Kwak were baptized. I have the complete tree, with some photos on of the Mrozek side of the family on MyFamily.com.

I have all my family tree members electronically stored in MyFamily.com. If you would like to view the tree, please contact me direct at robert.mrozek@sbcglobal.net and I can grant you view access to the tree and the photos.

I do not have much info about the current Swiderski's and if you are willing to share the info, I will add the info to the electronic tree.

I believe I am related to you. My grandfather was Walter Swiderski and his sister was Auntie Elsie. My father was Walter F. Swiderski. Grandpa was married to Ethel but that was his second marriage. Auntie Elsie gave my daughter alot of info on our ancestory along long time ago. My father Walter F. Swiderski just passed a way 2 years ago. I am also looking for relative but I wanted to find them in Poland and visit. Do you know if we have any over there?

Disappointedly, there doesn't seem to be a connection. Julian was from Suwalki. While in Chicago I made a copy of all Swiderskis buried at Holy Cross. There were several not from our line. There is an Andrew buried 2/11/1956 at age 60 in a section with Walerya Swiderski buried 6/9/1928 and Frances Swiderski age 34 buried 9/22/1953. Most of the rest are our line. Julian was wealthy and I was hoping maybe he helped bring over some family. Thank you for checking and if I come across info on your line in my research I will pass it along.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Swiderski; daughter, Juli of Washington state; sons, Scott of Ramona, Nick of Hawaii, Sean of Arizona and John of Spring Valley; and sister, Joyce Phil of Canada.

Sent for and received the application for a social security number for a woman married-name: Anna MARFICA. She was Anna STARON before her marriage, her father's name was Andrew STARON and her mother's maiden name was Katherine RAFA. Anna was born in July of 1894, in Glenlyonn, Pennsylvania. Her SSN was 316-34-9509, and she lived in Michigan City, Indiana

When I was little my father, John Swide (Swiderski)legally changed, use to take us all to a farm in Slickwille. PA to visit the daughters of my Grandpa Daniel Swiderski. I think the Aunts names were Mary and Pauline (?). The Aunts had a brother who owned another farm and I use to play with his son. The farm had been stripe mined for coal. They had cows and chickens. One sister lived in town and her husband work in the coal mines.

My Grandfather was John Swiderski,,,he married Anna (Rafa) and I BELIEVE they had 6 children...3 boys, 3 girls...Mary, Stella, and Helen (Helen died young 19 I think not too long after her mom died) The boys were Michael, Alexander (? I know he was called "Alex"...I Believe he was a boxer...) and Joseph (my father) My grandfather remarried (my father was very young when his mom died). I THINK when the family came from Poland they ORIGINALLY settled somewhere in Pennsylvania, they moved up to Connecticut.

I am helping a friend to locate one Joe Swiderski, who, at one time was a Professional Wrestler. Mr. Swiderski was the Best Man in my friends parents wedding and he would like to surprise his Father with a reunion with Joe.

My friend thinks Joe may have attended Drew prep School in San Francisco with his Father and believes Joe to have been born apprx. 1933.

Any help/and or direction is most appreciated.
