I am looking for any new information on Henry. I would love to find the Ship that he immigrated on. Family notes indicate that he arrived in Philadelphia about 1836. He died in Salem, Oregon on April 23, 1893. I would like to learn of where he is buried.
This is some of what I have...George Sykes married Alice Moorehouse Aug 23, 1813. Children all born in Netherton Bank End, England include... Hadfield (b.1814) married Alexandra Key (1873), Henry (b1818), Mary (b1820), Law (b1822), Wright (b.1823), Francis (b1828).
Henry arrived eastern PA and worked 2 years as a traveling salesman before returning to the business he knew woolen goods. He married Margaret Rebecca Bilger of Union County, PA about 1845.He lived in Clearfield County 1851-1861 then moved to Jefferson County, PA until traveling west on the Oregon Trail to a farm in Salem, OR. Henry and Margaret had 9 children Elizabeth Emeline (b.1846, m. Eli Best), George W b.1849, Jacob Bilger (b.1852 m. Florenna Philippi), Mary Emeline (b.1853 m. Frederick Wingart Buhite), Benjamin Jay (b. 1857 m. Mary Jane Silcox), Ellen b.1859, John Sitman b.1861, James Filson b.1864, and Hannah b.1867.
I come from the Jacob Bilger line. He and Florenna had 5 children Effie Alma (b.1881 m. Charles Everett Humphrey), Agnes Vienna (m. William R. Cole), Asa William (b1877 m. Jennie London), Thomas O (b.1880 m. Edith Blanche), Ruth Margaret (b. 1884 m. Edwin A. Wells)
