Syner - America/Britain connection

Hi. I'm researching the Syner branch of my mother's family history. Her grandmother was Florence Syner (b.1916 in England), and her Great-Grandfather was John Edwin Syner (b. 1871). Florence Syner (now deceased) always said that her great-grandfather came aross from America and i'm trying to investigate this possiblity. He would have been born between 1800 and 1820 i believe.

Does anyone have any information about a possible link between Syner's in England and Syner's in America?

I have a lot more info. available if anyone would like to know more.
