AUSTINTOWN, OH – Veronica “Baba” Tabak, 95, passed away peacefully, Jan. 19, 2013, at Briarfield Manor in Austintown.

She was born March 12, 1917, in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of John and Anna (Lesko) Janosko.

Veronica was a graduate of Struthers High School, Struthers, Ohio.

She had worked for Moyer’s Pant Factory from 1964 until 1974.

During World War II, she worked for General Fireproofing making parts for tanks in support of the war effort.

She was a member of St. Johns Orthodox Church, the CBI (China, Burma, and India) Veterans Group, with her husband, George.

She will be dearly missed by her son, Ronald G. Tabak and her daughter, Georgia Ann (James) Pogany, both of Austintown, Ohio; a sisters, Irene Minchin of Struthers, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jason Pogany, Amy (Greg) Tibolla, Erin (David) Riebe, Karen (Kevin) Naples, Sara Tabak and Susan (Steve) Malysa; as well as eight great-grandchildren, Landry, Rylan, Camdyn Naples, Kailyn and Mattie Tibolla, Nicholas Riebe, Logan and Addison Malysa.

Veronica was preceded in death by her husband, George Tabak, whom she married June 4, 1945; two sisters, Elizabeth Frazinni and Julia Janosko; two brothers, Adam and John Janosko; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at the Austintown Chapel, as well as on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Hospice MVI for their care and also her extended family at Briarfield Manor for all their love, support, and wonderful care they gave her.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.

POLAND, Ohio – Catherine “Kay” Urdea, 86, died Monday afternoon at her residence.

Kay was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Struthers, Ohio (Trumbull County) a daughter of George and Sophia Klutz Tabak.

A graduate of Struthers High School, Kay worked as a bookkeeper in the payroll department of Trumbull Industries in Warren, Ohio and retired in the year 2000.

Kay was a member of the Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church.

Kay leaves her husband, Thomas, whom she married 65 years ago on Sept. 7, 1946; two daughters, Gail (John) Walsh of Boardman, Ohio and Mary Lynn (David) Smercansky of Poland, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Christopher (Chrystie) Walsh, and Jeffrey and Ryan Walsh.

Besides her parents, Kay was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Michael Tabak; and one sister, Mary Snyder.

Family and friends will be received Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, where the Parastas will be held at 5:15 p.m.

The Panachida will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. and the Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at the Infant Jesus of Prague Church.
Interment will follow at the Poland Riverside Cemetery

Kay’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the wonderful care provided by her caregivers, Obie Danso-Ayesu and Marnie Spatar and to Grace Hospice.

NEW MIDDLETOWN, Ohio – A memorial Mass will be celebrated today at the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville for Helen (Tabak) Skripac, 87, who died Monday, dec 19, 2011 at Assumption Village.

Helen was born Sept. 18, 1924, the daughter of John and Mary Bobko Tabak.

She was a homemaker, a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in New Middletown.

Her husband, Anthony Skripac, whom she married Nov. 24, 1945, died Dec. 25, 1977.

She is survived by her son, Paul (Kathy) Skripac of Boardman; three grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer) Skripac, Joe (Jen, Ohiony) Rachic and Chad Rachic; five great-grandchildren, Nathan Skripac, Abigale Skripac, Ryan, Mark and Ben Rachic; and a son-in-law, Sy Rachic.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Rachic; a sister, Mary Kovach; and four brothers, John, Mike, George and Andrew Tabak.

Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery

Mary Tabak Snyder 1921-2011 Ohio

COLUMBIANA, Ohio – Mary T. Snyder, 89, formerly of North Middle Street died Saturday evening, July 2, 2011, at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center, New Middletown, OH.

She was born Oct. 14, 1921, in Struthers, Ohio daughter of George and Sophia Klotz Tabak and moved to Columbiana in 1959.

During World War II Mary welded tank treads at the former Truscon Steel Company in Youngstown, Ohio and later worked as a cashier in many grocery stores.
She was an office worker for the former Fisher Printing Company in Columbiana for 20 years.
She was a member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church and the Columbiana Dance Club.

Mary was preceded in death by three husbands, on Jan. 26, 1957, by Vasil Maximov, whom she married June 7, 1941; on Sept. 6, 1981, by G. Charles Fisher, whom she married Sept. 19, 1959; and on Feb. 12, 2010, by Joseph Kale Snyder, whom she married Sept. 28, 1985.

Surviving is her two stepdaughters, Linda (Ned) Wright of Columbus, Ohio and Carol (Stan) Crosser of Colleyville, Texas; a stepson, Richard “Dick” Fisher of Leetonia, Ohio; a sister, Katherine (Tom) Urdea of Poland, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; step grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Michael Tabak.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor Paul Burgeson officiating. Burial will be at Columbiana Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
