I'm a nephew of the lats Sally Tager who was married to Jerome Lewbel and had a son, Stanley. She passed away in 1947 +-. He died later but had 3 children.

Willy Tagar Was my Aunts husband ,her name was Lee Deampsey,her sister Minnie dempsey is my grandmother,she married jim ( James ) Stevens.Aunt Lee's father was Sam Dempsey,her mother was Ida May Wilder.I don't remember much about there kids

I would like to know what you know about the Chavis family from Orangeburg. My grandmother was Annie Ruth Chavis Bolin. She had two sisters (twins), Mary, married Lee Knight, and Janie, married Sam Goodwin. Supposedly, their parents were Eunice Hooker, born around 1881, and John Chavis, born around 1872.
Any more information you may have would be appreciated.

We think Alfred was born in Ind. but lived in Cincinnati, Ohio Hamilton Co. He was married to Helen Larkin-Pierce who had children. Alta was one of the daughter's names.

Tager ancestors

Looking for my Tager ancestors, I have some info. My (grandma) Lottie Tager was the daughter of John Adam Tager and Martha "Mattie" Chavis. John's parents were Adam Tager and Martha Ann Elizabeth Gleaton. Martha Chavis parents were Patrick Chavis and either Julie Ann Nelson or Elizabeth West.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I am a cousin, my grandmother Lottie Tager and Wade were brother and sister, I would like to know what info that you have on the Tager line. Majority of the info that I have I got from Rudy Tager. Your info would be appreciated.

My Dad (Rudy Tager) has this information on file of Adam Tager and Martha Ann Gleaton. I believe they are either grt, grt, grandparents or Aunt and Uncle. My dad made me copies but he knows all the information you are looking for and may have old pictures.

I think my grandmother Lottie Tager Tedder was Wilder Tagers brother their parents were John & Madeline Tager. Wilder Tager has a son Benny Tager that lives in Quinlan TX, and a sister Dessie Mae Tager Boles that lives in Pelion, SC and they are Cherokee Indian. My maiden name is Tager, I am one of 4 remaining Tagers in our family, we were not aware of other Tager's I wonder if you are related to us. My Grandfathers siblings were lost through the years.

My connection to Tager is very peripheral. Israel Tager married Sophie Kivowitz and had 3 children (according to what we know),Ralph, Milton and Sidney. They were in New York City in the early part of the century. My great aunt worked for the Tager's in the 20' or 30's. Sophie Kivowitz was the daughter of Elchonon(?) Kivowitz who was the brother of my great grandfather, Karl (Kiva) Wilder. Family lore states that Kivowitz changed his name from Wilder. I have no dates for any of these people, except for Kiva Wilder, who died around 1915. My own genealogical interest is in Kiva Wilder.

I am part of this "Tager" family.... All I know is my Great-Grandfather (Wade Tager) married my Great-Grandmother (Agnus Austin) and lived in or around Orangeburg, S.C. My Grandmother is Mae Dean "Deana" (Jacob) Tager. Her only daughter Carol (Crocker) is my mother.

I am aware of our status as Native American's (Beaver Creek Pee-Dee Indians).

I am just getting started on this journey please any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

My maternal Grandmother - the concert pianist Alma Tager was a Ladino speaking sephardic Jewess who lived in Sofia, Bulgaria in the early 1900s. She married a Russian Jew named Rapoport and moved first to Israel, then to Belgium. I don't know anything about her family or the Tager family in Bulgaria, but there is one Tagerov (in Bulgarian this means "of Tager") who still lives in Sofia. Any relation is uncertain. Are there any other Bulgarian connections?

My g.g. grandmother was Ida Wilder. She married Sam Dempsey. One of their children, Lee (female) married a man named Wilder Tager. I am very interested in finding out how these families are connected. Another surname that comes up a great deal in this family is Griffin. Three of the children of Sam Dempsey and Ida Wilder married Griffins. They were sharecroppers on the Hussey family farm in Dorchester County South Carolina.
