Looking for Izuma Takara. He was a soldier in the Korean War with my Dad, William (Bill) Wiedmaier, and was wounded with a mortar, which gave him a serious chest wound on August 14 1952, near Chorwon, North Korea, along with my dad.
They were cut off from their company that day on a side of a hill and were getting hit with mortars pretty hard and were both injured. They finally got to the Inchon River, where they floated downstream, while the enemy was shooting at them with machine guns. They finally caught up with their company and were sent to different hospitals. That was the last time my Dad saw Izuma, he doesn't know whether he lived or died, until a couple of weeks ago, when I found a list of the casualties that day. Izuma Takara is as follows:
