Only thing I can tell you is that she is buried in the Crain Cemetery, Jackson County, IL. (at the Crain Baptst Church, Off Route 3 in Kincaid Twp.) Daniel does not seem to be buried there. I've got lots of info on her siblings, parents, etc if you need anything - her brother, Peter Keefer Talbott is my greatgrandfather

Howard

Unfortunately I am late in the game on these posts but found this extremely interesting. I recently was able to tract my line from Richard ... Edward ... Edward ... John ... John ... Jeremiah ... Elisha ... William ... Pleasant ... Walter ... Arlington (my father). I have gone to Wiseburg/Stablersville Md. where I can easily track to Elisha after that it is all Shirk's book. Since my family is from northern Baltimore County I would be interested in the information you have on "Barrett's Delight", the Talbott homestead in Baltimore County, MD. I am also currently tracing Jeremiah who I believe was in Washington's Army and served as a Capt/Maj in the 6th Pa. Bn. Many campaigns to include Valley Forge/Canada. Even though it was a Pa. Bn. there were many northern Md. soldiers that served with them. The dates I have are right just need to link the person. Thank you.

Walt Talbott

I am looking for information on Sydner W. Talbott. She is the daughter of William E. Talbott and Elizabeth Crain. Sydner was born on August 28, 1844. According to Census Records (Jackson County, IL), the Talbott's lived in Jone's Creek, IL in 1860; Rockwood, IL in 1870; Kinkaid Twp, IL in 1880 and Ava, IL in 1900. According to the Illinois Marriage Records, she married Daniel M. Bower on March 23, 1861 in Jackson County, IL. I have not been able to find them on any census records. Does anyone have any information on this family?

Ruby: WOW have I been missing in action. your post from 2000. No this is not the same Jeremiah Talbott. My Jeremiah Jackson Talbott was born in 1828 in baltimore (son of Benjamin Talbott and Mary Jane ???).
Married a Eliza Rainy in Chesterfield Co VA. She died and he then married morinda Holt (daughter of William holt and Jane Edmunds) but for a few years he lived and died in Chesterfield VA. My Jeremiah was a blacksmith and worked at the Old Dominion Iron Works in richmond he was also a veteran of the Mexican War.

there is a family burial plot in the Old Maury Cemetery in richmond VA. there is a Civil War burial marker there but have yet to figure out who in the family it belongs to. I suspect it belongs to William thomas Hart who was a son in law of Jeremiahs (William hart married Lillie Bell talbott - these are my great grandparents).

I am seeking information on Demovil and Peggy Talbott. I am particularly interested in where they settled when they came to Bourbon County, Kentucky. Does anyone have any information about these Talbotts having land on what is now North Middletown/Levy Road (once called Rockbridge Road)? I know that their son, Mason and his wife (Susan Leach Talbott), had land on this road in 1851. I am also interested in information on Mason and Susan--marriage, where they lived, etc.

De Moville Talbot(t) in Asotin County Washington

Reviewing an Asotin County WA Atlas for 1914, for my mother's family, I was very surprised to find a name from my father's side of the family -- from the late 1700s! A De Moville Talbot owned land in Asotin County WA; a nearby neighbor was H. C. Talbott.

In the 1700s, a Demoville (variously spelled) Talbot(t) in Fairfax Co VA married into the family of my oldest known Williams ancestor, George Williams (?-1794), from whom they inherited land in Bourbon Co VA, and moved there.

This earlier Talbotts's mother's maiden name was DeMourville -- I was surprised to see what is clearly a family name show up roughly a century and a half later on the other side of the country -- within miles of my maternal grandparents and great-grandparents. Does anyone have data on this De Moville Talbot in Asotin Co WA?

In searching my Talbott line (John B. Talbott), I came across a few papers with Richard Talbott that was sent to me by a lady searching Thomas Talbott. The pedigree chart I have shows Richard Talbott born 1630 In Anne Arundel, Co., Md. He married Elizabeth Ewen. Her father was Major Richard Ewen and her mother's name was Sarah. It states that in 1649 he lived in West River. He was a Quaker. And, according to a 1663 he left "Talbotts Ridge" jointly to his sons, to Elizabeth her personality. Witness: Richard Galloway". Richard (son) married Ruth Dorsey 1679, Edward married Elizabeth Thomas Coale, nothing who John married, and Elizabeth married Benjamin Lawrence. I also have a faint copy of some military papers on a Richard Talbot, S, 40,552 enlisted State of Ohio, Washington Co., Dates of enlistment June 1, 1776 length of service 3-17-1778. Rank was Ensign, Lt & Adj.- Captain Edward dNorwood, Colonel Josias C. Hall- state of Maryland. Engaged in Battles White Plains, Brandywine and Germantown. Applied for pension June 15, 1818. Residence at time of paplication Monroe ___, Ohio at age 66 years. (This may be the son of your Richard Talbott) Maybe this will help or you may already have this. Deeann

Also, the old Poplar Knowle location..does it still exist in any form & is there an old cemetery (or other cemetery) where Richard & his early descendants might be interred?

I won't have much time, but if I could get a hotel in the right city (perhaps Glen Burnie?), I could at least get to the local library for my own documentations.

Leslie

Aunt Bonnie lived with my mother in South Carolina for a little while until she moved to California, where she died in 1991. Uncle Sam died in 2003 at Lonesome Pine Hospital. Uncle Edgar died in 1980 in Richmond, Va. He was never the same after WWI. I remember knowing about him but I don't remember ever seeing him except for a picture. He looked like Grandma Clifton. Uncle Vernon died in 1979 in Appalachia, Va. Uncle George died in 1987, Big Stone Gap. I don't have the death date for Smith, Oma, Nosie, or Lula. Grandma Clifton died in 1961 and she is buried in Powell Valley Cemetery.

I remember Uncle Jim a little. He was tall, I think. Aunt Lula (Lulie) was a very petite woman. I don't remember much about her except that I liked her.

My mother is the second child of Vola Clifton and Oscar Pelfrey. Her sister, Alice, was the oldest. She died in California. Next came Kathleen and Winfred, who both died as young children. Next came Bill, Mina, and Rita, who all live in Virginia.

I am Gloria, only child of Walter Jones and Azzalee Pelfrey.

My children are Kim and Gerald.

Richard Talbott and Elizabeth Ewen

Hi, I've seen some threads going back regarding searching for the ancestors of Richard Talbott and Elizabeth Ewen.
I only recently learned that I am descended from Nichols Gassawy's line. Was there any definite information found regarding the ancestors of Richard Talbott or Elizabeth Ewen or a link that anyone can direct me to that has the information?

The information I've seen on the internet seems to indicate that Elizabeth Ewen was the daughter of a Major Richard Ewen and a Sophia Scarborough. And that Richard Ewen died and Sophia remarried to Col. William Burgess and at least one the children from that marriage was Susanna Burgess who married a Major Nicholas Sewall. Most of the posts seem to be from a few years back so I am hoping perhaps there is more now known.

I would also like to know if anyone knows of the history of the Lawrence family from Benjamin Lawrence who married Elizabeth Talbott? I did find a listing on the One World tree that seems to indicate that they married in 1676 and Benjamin's parents were a Benjamin Lawrence and a Ann Ascomb.

I'm afraid I'm very confused in trying to go back any further than that and would really appreciate info from anyone that could guide me.

Thank you,
James

marinier01@yahoo.com
I do not know much at all. Maybe we could start with where he is from? I'm not sure where to begin.
Thank you again.
Rebecca
