Looking for James Tallents & Ann Hardy's parents: they married 1766 Chesterfield, Derbyshire. My current project is gathering all Tallents lines in Derbyshire & Nottingham. I have gathered info from the IGI, I am now reading through the microfilms of Derbyshire. If anyone wishes to swap information with me it would be greatly appreciated. Wesley Tallent - Missouri

Wesley and Alice Lands were married until Wesley's death in 1904. They had 3 children. Slyvia, Clarence & Elza Alice remarried John Herbold a few years later.

Does anyone have any information on Alice or Wesley's families?

I may have been able to go back a few more years with Tallent (Talent, Tallant, Talant). I just sent off for a DNA test to see what happens. I show Aaron Tallent b. 1760 as my ggggg grandfather and Aaron Tallent b. 1735 as my gggggg grandfather and Thomas Tallent b. 1710 as my ggggggg grandfather and Richard Tallent b. 1690 as my gggggggg grandfather but I am unable to make the jump across the Atlantic so far. If we could get some of the Tallent's in Europe to join the Tallent DNA program maybe we can continue back in time.

It would be great to have the Tallent's DNA in Englnad & Ireland tested to see how they match those in the US.

We may then be able to determine where the Tallents who were in Anson County, NC came from.

I am trying to piece all the Tallents together, I have quite a bit of information on the families. I am especially working on the Manchester, Derbyshire, Shropshire, Nottingham lines. I would also like to know how the USA fit into the tree's, also the Cornwall lines and does anyone know the French Tallents connection yet: I have read and worked out that it is late 1500's. Anyone willing to swap info with me.

My Grandfather, Henry Tallents came from England to the US in the early 20th century. One sibling, Margret had been mentioned because she was the only one to visit him in the US. I believe there were other siblings. Henry married Ruth Agnes Riley, they had four children. My Aunt Hilda (Tallents) Savage and Aunt Ruth Gibson (Tallents) continued correspondence with our relatives across the pond but that information has been lost.

My great grandmother was Sophronia Underwood a daughter of Joel Underwood. Joel was born in North Carolina and Sophronia was born abt 1845 in Georgia. Joel and his family migrated to Monroe County TN and that's where Sophronia married Thomas Pearson Veal on Janruary 16, 1872. My grandmother, Lucy Veal, was one of their children. I'm trying to find out when Sophronia died and where she is buried. My Underwood lineage came out of Virginia then Georgia and finally Monroe County TN. Any help will be appreciated.

John, I am very interested in what you know of your grt.grt. grt. grandfather, David. I have been told he is son of John tallant of Jackson co., Ga. and before that, S. C., and N.C. Do you know if David's wife, Sarah, was a Castleberry? And if Margaret, wife of Odian Castleberry, was a Tallant? David Barnes gave me some great information about Odian and David, and John Tallant. Seeking info on the following: Cora Tallent (Talent) born May 1872 in Indiana, married Harvey Gable, had daughters Rena and "Dolly" who went with last name Talent and Leora. Leora married Ralph Harris. "Dolly" was mother of Henry Harris whose father was Charles Harris. Cora died 13 March 1952 in Michigan.

My 3greatgrandfather was Jeptha Jefferson Tallent, the line goes: Jeptha, Cyrus Houston Tallent, William Jefferson Tallent, William Leo Tallent, JL Tallent. I am trying to find info on the Tallent line. I have very little going back to Richard Tallent 1690.

Everett Newton Tallent married Lucia E. Bell. She was born Dec 1880 in MO, according to the 1900 census:

Everett and Lucia apparently had only two daughters, Mable/Maple b. ca. 1903 and Myrtle b. ca. 1905.

I don't know what happened to Lucia E. Bell Tallent after that. In 1910 her daughters were living with their paternal grandfather, Francis Malachi Tallent. Their father, Everett Newton Tallent, was living in Atlanta, GA, where he met his second wife, Hattie Elizabeth Lord. I don't have a marriage record for them, but their son, James Everett Tallent, was born 15 May 1914. A second son, Charles, was born ca. 1917. In 1920 and 1930, the family was in Kennett, Dunklin Co., MO.

My mother was
Vera M. Bailey, her father was Richard Edward Bailey, his father, Charlie Hicks Bailey, his father William W. Bailey, Jr, his father William W. Bailey, Sr, his father John Bailey, his father Thomas Bailey, his father John Bailey.

William Sr and Jr were the first of this line to come to Calhoun Co, Ms------as far as I know they do not connect to the Hayman Bailey line that was done here when they got here

My name is Wayne Cloud, Bobbie Huskey's brother. Huskey was her married name. Our mother was Pearl Mae Tallent, sister of Mattie Tallent who was Paul's mother. Jeff Tallent and Lucy Veal were Mom's and Matties parents. As children we visited Paul, Polly, and their family in Loudon County, TN. I remember you had a brother that was an invalid, but I don't remember his name. The last time I saw Audrey was at my mothers funeral in July 1979 in Knoxville.
