My gandfather was Aurelio (Ray) Locatelli, Constantina's son born in Colorado on Sept 20 1911. I didn't know that his mother had died of influenza. I had some of the most memorable times of my life with my grandpa. Anymore info on her husband would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Jennifer Locatelli Swartz

Constantina Tamagni Locatelli

We are looking for information about my husband's grandmother, Constantina Tamagni born around 1881 or 1882 in Switzerland. Her father was Giacomo Tamagni from Lodrino. She married Giacomo Locatelli and arrived in NY in 1908 with a 3 year old son on her way to Durango, Colorado to join her husband. The story is that Giacomo Locatelli was herding sheep in the mountains and broke his leg. The Tamagni's took care of him until he could return home and he fell in love with Constantina. Costantina died in the 1920 influenza epidemic in Salinas, California leaving 4 children. We wonder if anyone has any information about the Tamagni's from Lodrino. It looks like a very small village. Thanks

I just happened to find my way back to this board on Tamagni/Sarina board. I really don't remember if I answered Judy Tamagni or not. We never did quite establish if I was related to the Tamagni's that live in Petaluma, particularly Eveyn Tamagni, her son is Bob. I can't recall his last name at the moment, but he is related to Cesario Tamagni. Until I find out my grandparent's names in Switzerland, I'll never find the Tamagni's to whom I am related. I never knew there would be soooo many Tamagni's.

Thanks for replying Judy. I believe Cesario Tamagni is related to Rick, and also Robert Ransom, Jr. of Petaluma. Robert's mother's name is Evelyn Tamagni. We just couldn't quite connect that we were truly related. My dad did mention years ago that he had some cousins in Petaluma. My dad eventually moved up here to Humboldt Co., Ca., as his brother's family settled in Fortuna, Ca. What is your husband's first name, and do you live in Calistoga?
Jean

Hi Rick and Jean,

Hopefully you two still check out these message boards. I believe somehow my husbands family is "distantly" related. He is one of the Calistoga Tamagni's. Looking on the very extended "pedigree" that Ann Enderlin has done, I see a Cesario Tamagni with a date of birth of Aug. 5, 1862. Maybe the same as your grandfather Rick?
Judy Tamagni

Dear Jean, Thanks for writing. I doubt if Bob would mind if you wanted to ask some questions. He is both very informative and helpful where genealogy is concerned. Do you by any chance know where in Switzerland that your family came from? Our side came from St. Antonio, and we still have many family members living there. If you would be interested, I can give you the e-mail address of one of my cousins (2nd or 3rd) and he may be able to give you the names of some of your relation, but if you are of the Sarina family, I know that we have to be related somehow. Let me know if you would care to correspond with him as I am more then happy to help you in any way that I can. Have you ever heard of any of your family being related to the Buletti family?

Thanks for replying again. I don't think Bob would want to contact me anymore because I never found out anymore info. I also had a Uncle Joe Tamagni, but he owned a hotel, I believe, in Philadelphia, Pa.I never did get to meet him. My Uncle John Tamgni settled in Fortuna, Ca.He may have lived in Petaluma at some time also. Since we never kept in contact with his 2 living daughters, I have been hesitant to call them. Their brother Eddie Tamagni died a few years ago. When I did call the oldest daughter, Lillie, when her brother-in-law died, she didn't sound to happy to hear from me after all this time. That is why I am such a coward to call her now. Sincerely, Jean

Hi again Jean, I have Bob`s e-mail address, and I`ll ask him if he would not mind if you would contact him using it. I do know that we are related, because we are also related to the Sarina Family. Bob has many old photos, one of which is my Great Grand-mother, Dominica. We also had a relitive that was an emplyee of the old Waldorf Astoria. He and I have corresponded with some cousins that live in Switzerland. I will let you know just as soon as I can contact Bob if it would be ok to give you his address. By the way, my Grand-father Tamagni also had a brother that lived in Petaluma and had a bar there. His name was Joe, I believe.
Regards
Rick

Hi Rick, I did correspond with Bob Ransom from Petaluma for some time. We could just never quite prove we were actually related. I don't know if Bob retired or not because I tried to contact him sometime later, but to no avail. We traded ancester pictures in the past. When my father came here from Switzerland as a young man, he did reside in Petaluma for awhile. He told me years later he did have some cousins there. When I was young I wasn't particularly interested in ancestery. I wished now that I had at least written it down. I became interested after I got the pc, but I am not getting anywhere so I gave up. I was surprised to see a letter from you. I want to thank you very much for replying. Jean

Her name is Evelyn Ransom I live in Red Bluff, and Robert, or Bob, as we call him, has done much searching concerning our history. He has many facts and much information that I`m sure he would be happy to share. He still resides in Petaluma.
Regards
Rick
P.S. My Grandfather was Cesar Tamagni. He used to have the old Horseshoe bar in Petaluma. My Father`s name is Ernest. In fact, I was born in Petaluma.

Hi Mistina,
When my father Adolph Tamagni came to this country from Switzerland, he did reside in Petaluma for a time. He said he had some cousins there. At first I thought I could be related to Gary and a man named Robert that does live in Petaluma. His mother was a Tamagni. We think we might be related somehow, but could never just quite prove it. His letter might still be on the board. If you have a reunion every year, he just might possibly be there. I havn't corresponded with him in awhile. Gary and Robert know more about the Tamagni/Sarina genealogy than I do. Both of these gentlemen tried to be very helpful. E-mail me if you wish, I would love to hear more about you. Thanks for writing. Jean

For example, I had some Tamagni cousins in Petaluma, and back in Switzerland I have many Tamagni relatives as well.
