Finally I am online. Is anybody out there interested???????I have much information relating to Mills Tandy and Amelia Graves and their descendants, Jonathan Graves, William L. Graves, Thomas S. Smoot and his descendants, including many unidentified photos from Christian County, Kentucky and Parker County, Texas and many letters written to and from the sons, daughters, brothers and sisters of Martha Jane (Tandy) Smoot. These letters begin with one written by Mills Tandy to Martha Jane (Tandy) Smoot in 1849. The Thomas S. Smoot family emigrated to Parker County, Texas about 1881 and settled in the Greenwood Community and are buried in the Greenwood Cemetery. They had issue: W. T., Henry Theodore, Robert T., Fort Lee, and Anna Mary Amelia. The Bible of Mills Tandy is in our family and has all the birth, marriage and death records dating to Henry Tandy. as are the family records of Thomas S. Smoot. The related families of Chastain, Larmon, Yates, Parrish, Graves, Pettus, Mills, Ming and others are mentioned in the Bible Records and Letters. At present I have no way of inserting photos or copies of letters or Bible Records. Hope this is of interest to Tandy and Smoot descentants. Jim Parrish

I came across a picture of my mother and her parents that includes a woman named Mildred Tandy. This photo was taken in California around 1950. Presuming Mildred is the same age as my grandparents she would have been around 60. My grandparents were Bill Donoho and Cora Braasch. If anyone would like a copy of this picture please let me know.

Thank you.

Margaret--thank you for the info--the Minerals management in OKlahoma anyway--does not keep records on who actually owns the minerals and mineral owners in Oklahoma do not pay taxes on the minerals so it keeps me with a job trying to find lost mineral owners for oil & gas companies.

I did receive some info on the Tandy's heirs that are now in Oregon and forwarded the info on to the company trying to locate them.

I do not have time to research my own family (LOL) but I do know that my husband's family is from Indiana. There are several family members that are heavy into research and there is a book of genealogy for the Tewells.

Hope this info helps..Thanks for contacting me. Sue

Dear Marjorie,

There were two Scotts in Roger's family. One was his son and another, his grandson by a second wife. I do have some details on them, as found in the excellent compilation, Tandy Kinsmen, by William Averitt.

Eugene C Tandy Athol, Mass Photo

I found a photo of a man in his 20's taken in Athol Mass. On the back is written Eugene C. Tandy, Athol. I found a Eugene b 1873 living with his parents in 1900 Athol Mass Census. Parents were Charles 1846, Priscilla 1847. Siblings were Wilber 1875, Ruth 1887. I looked in 1880 Charles F and Pricilla were living with her parents, Fay family. In 1920 Charles F and Pricilla and Wilbert are still in Athol. There is also a Charles E. b 1874 living in Athol. It is my assumption that he is Eugene. Gertrude is his wife. Siblings are Gladys, Mildred, Marjorie, Clifton, Spencer, Thenis, Melma, Huber, Marclica. Mother in law Winfield Stockwell living with them.

If anyone thinks this photo belongs to them, please let me know.

Mel Dove

Info was found in the back of a small book, as follows. It was the property of Betsy Tandy, given to her May 22, 1813.

Jonathan Tandy born June 5, 1802

Henry Tandy born April 20, 1805

Gorham Tandy born Sept 10, 1801

John F. Tandy born Jan. 23, 1810

Vienna Dow Tandy born Nov. 22, 1812
died Sept. 15, 1832 age 20
William Tandy died Dec. 13, 1812

John Freeman Tandy died April 13, 181?

also a name that I can't read, which is the first entry. The closest I can come is Heeril?? Tandy bornFeb.18, 1800.

If you have any suggestions, they are welcome. It does not seem to be Henry, and I have lots of experience with old writing.

Susan
