You can find the WWI attestation papers for Tanghe at:
http://www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/02010602_e.html
Joseph gives his b.d. as 2 Jan 1898 (he probably died if he was too young to join) and his b.p. as Vink, Belgium. He says he was living in Navin MB and his father is Charlie Tanghe. Joseph was part of the 100 Wpg Grenadiers.

I'm laughing here a bit because under dinstinguishing remarks it says: 1 left arm (Infancy). That's odd, I thought most of us just had "1 left arm." However, maybe if this is the right Joseph Tanghe (how many could there be from Wpg?) it might mean something different to you.

There's also Joseph's brother Maurice who signs up and says his father Charles is at the Navin Dairy, St. Boniface, Charles b.d. is 20 May 1893, b.p. Ruysseled, Belgium. Maurice possibly stayed behind (or did he go back) when the familiy emigrated because he also served in the Belgium Army frm 1915-1917, and signs up as a member of teh 11th Cn Res Battn. in Shorncliffe, Kent.

Also I found:
GROOM'S LAST NAME: GEENEUS
GROOM'S GIVEN NAMES: RICHARD
BRIDE'S LAST NAME: TANGHE
BRIDE'S GIVEN NAMES: MARIA
DATE OF MARRIAGE: 12/15/1909
PLACE OF MARRIAGE: ST B
REGISTRATION NUMBER: 1910,004534

GROOM'S LAST NAME: TANGHE
GROOM'S GIVEN NAMES: ALPHONSE JOSEPH
BRIDE'S LAST NAME: DE GRAVE
BRIDE'S GIVEN NAMES: MARIE
DATE OF MARRIAGE: 05/15/1911
PLACE OF MARRIAGE: ST B
REGISTRATION NUMBER: 1911,004426

LAST NAME: TANGHE
GIVEN NAMES: UNNAMED
DATE OF DEATH: 10/25/1916
AGE: 24
UNITS OF AGE: HOURS
SEX: M
PLACE OF DEATH: ST BONIFACE
REGISTRATION NUMBER: 1916,059043

LAST NAME: TANGHE
GIVEN NAMES: MADELINE
DATE OF DEATH: 11/08/1918
AGE: 18 years
PLACE OF DEATH: ST BON
REGISTRATION NUMBER: 1918,065144

I have a ss application for Lavina Coyle whose parents were Francis X. Wauters and Natalie Tanghe. they resided in Rochester, NY. Wauters was my grandmothers maiden name and she supposedly came from Belgium with her father around 1882. Mother was deceased. My grandmother had cousins so some other Wauters must have also come at or around the same time. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The genealogical tree Tanghe was in fact in 1981 and not in 1992
and I was born the next year (in 1992 that was an other family in Belgium)
I have seen my grandfather , the son of Celine Tanghe
According to him , it's possible that some members of his family left Belgium for USA or Canada
He said that his mother wanted to go to North America (Canada or USA) , his husband too
and they weren't afraid of leaving France (or Belgium if that was their parents)
To my grandfather ,there is a dicrease of persons whose name is Tanghe in Belgium
(many families had only daughters)
However , there are more and more Tanghe names in France
I am sorry to have more information since the genealogical tree stops with Camiel Tanghe
(unless I find older documents in the grandparents'house)
A+

I live in France , but I have ancesters from Belgium
The mother of my maternal grandfather was Celine Tanghe
She was married with Léon Bisschop. She was born in 1892 and she died in 1970
Celine's father was Camiel (or Camille in french) Tanghe. He was born in 1858 and died in 1941
His wife was Coralie Dedeyne (1860-1943)
They lived in Belgium and they came to France maybe owing to the first world war or the war of 1870
Otherwise , we had a feast with the genealogical tree in 1992 (they say Stamboomfeest in Belgium)
That was in Oedelem
Bye
Wilfried
P.S:this is only information about Tanghe family
