Stilllooking for information on Joshua Tankard. I have a Joshua Tankard born 1720 in London, father was rober son of robert born Ireland. My ancsestor was Joshua Tankard who married Dorothy Smithers in Kellington, Yorkshire 15 Dec 1754. I don't know if my ancestor is the Joshua of London or not but the London Joshua is the only Joshua I can find in the right time frame. The family has been in the Birken, Chapel Huddlesey area of Yorkshire since the late 1700s. My great grandmother Phoebe Tankard was born at Birken in 1809 and Married Joseph Plowman in Hull. They emigrated to the USA in 1829.
