Loretta Lunger Tarr Loving Mother, Grandmother, &Great Grandmother
Loretta "Peggy" Valimont McKenna Lunger Tarr, 78,
a resident of Harborcreek Township,
died on Tuesday afternoon April 29, 2008
at the Hamot Medical Center
after a brief illness.
She was born on April 23, 1930
a daughter of the late Edgar and Sarah Royer Valimont. Loretta enjoyed quilting
and crafting and was a member of Tops Chapter #91 in Wesleyville
and the Silver Sneakers at the Eastside YMCA.
Also, she was a member for many years of Delta Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was retired and had last worked
as an assembler at the Seaway Aluminum Co.
She had also worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for a number of years at the Twinbrook Medical Center.
Survivors include five daughters, Cheryl Rensel and her husband John of Punxsutawney,
Colleen Hetrick and her husband Mervin of Harborcreek, Christine Whitmore and her husband Ken of Riverside, Calif., Elizabeth White and her husband Gary of Clymer, N.Y.,
and Jacqueline May and her husband Donald of Wattsburg;
five sons, Francis "Skip" McKenna and his wife Debra of Noel, Mo., Dennis "Mike" Lunger, Sr. and his wife Violet of Erie,
Daniel Lunger, Sr. and his wife Kim of Erie,
Edgar Lunger and his wife Debbie of Bear Lake, Pa.,
and Frederick Lunger, Jr. of Wattsburg;
a brother, LeRoy Valimont, Sr. of Erie;
a sister, Eleanor of Erie;
26 grandchildren,
35 great grandchildren,
four step children,
and many nieces and nephews
also survive.
She was preceded in death by her
husbands Frederick Lunger" in 1984

and Edward Tarr" in 1993;
a son, Christopher Allen Lunger;
a daughter, Linda Lee Lunger;
two grandsons, Keith Szep, Jr.
and Daniel Lunger, Jr.;
a great grandson, Jody Lee Orton, Jr;
five sisters
and seven brothers.
Friends may call at
the Russell C. Schmidt &Son Funeral Home, 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie, corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave., Friday 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM and are invited to prayer services there on Saturday morning at 9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Boniface Church at 10:00 AM. The Vigil Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday evening at 7:30 PM. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hamot Guardian Angels, Hamot Second Century Fund, 302 French St., Erie, 16507.
