Hi All Able Tasman fans,
I Googled Able Tasman, He married twice, his only daughter to his first wife also married twice. First to Philip Heylman and had a son Abel Heylman and her second marriage was to Jacob Bremner whom she also had children by but that is a far as I have gone so far.
Elizabeth von Driberg b. 1790 10th Oct 1790 d. 12th Aug 1860 Sri Lanka married Abraham White 1807. their children were Herbert b. 1808,James 1809,Charlotte 1811,George 1812,Susannah 1813,Charles 1815,Abraham,Graham, & Alexander b. 1818.
Alexander m.Mere Te Huia and had Albert Bennet White among others (I have them but not for here too many)and this is where my family are descendants from.
Our von Dribergs are the family that originated in Germany and it seems there was another van Drieberg family in Sri Lanka at the same time originating from Holland. This is where a lot of cofusion arises the families get mixed up. It turned my head inside out for a while.
The Whites originated in England.
The East India company seems to be a link Abel Tasman and Maria van Dieman's husband both worked for the company, hence the rumour that there was an illigitimate child.
So anyone with knowledge of the descendants of Abel Heylman or the Children of Jacob Bremner, I would love to hear from you.
I have a lot that is not posted here and will share if you contact me.
