MERRILL TEAGUE

I am trying to identify a person my mother referred to all her life. All we know about him was that his name was Merrill TEAGUE, and she said he lived in Anson, Texas.

In fact, to quote the way mom always said it "Cousin Merrill Teague of Anson." He was apparently quite a bit older than my mother, so this man would have been born in circa 1900-1910.

This Mr. Teague would have been related to the ROE, USSERY, STOCKTON and related families in some way.

My mother was Dora Belle ROE, born 20 October 1922 in Star, Texas; died 17 September 2006 in Canon City, Colorado. Her father was Alvin Silliman "Jake" ROE and her mother was Myrtle Amanda TEAGUE.

If there is anyone out there who might possibly even have a clue as to the identity of this man, I would love to hear from you - and hopefully solve a life long mystery!

Thank you,
Patricia Quinn patty719@msn.com

mystery man Teague

We are trying to solve the mystery of a man who was related to my mother. For our entire lives we have heard of him, and no one seems to know who he is/was.

His name was Merrill TEAGUE. He was apparently from Anson, Texas. He would have been born in probably about 1900-1915, but unsure where.

He would have had relatives living in Hamilton and Mills County, Texas and did visit them occasionaly. My mother always referred to him as "cousin Merrill Teague."

He would have probably been related to the MERRILL family, along with being a TEAGUE.

Does anyone have a possible clue that could help us finally identify him? thank you in advance.

Patricia Quinn Meigs patty719@msn.com

I retired in 2006 and find this very interesting, and helps pass the time at nite. You can e mail me at adykes2@cox.net if you like.

Hi, my name is Robert J. Teague and a distant cousin of Albert Dykes. For more info on the ancestors of Logan Teague, see my family tree online (Direct Ancestors); I am trying to go back as far as I possible can on my direct ancestors and have posted what I have found. I am pretty sure of the info Albert gave you is correct but I can't be sure of all the other as I have found some serious errors in researching online through ancestory.com.

I don't know if you have found any information on your family but I have several of your ancestors in my family tree. I am RJTeague and a very distance cousin. I only show your grandfather as having one child and your great grandfather as William Franklin Teague with seven children. I have other ancestors back to Edward Teague 1660, which most researchers have as the oldest Teague.

I've lots of Teagues in my family tree, but I've found one
in my wife's as well. The Teague in question is a Nancy Teague of Virginia, born c. 1745 and died between 1830-1840
in Montgomery County, VA. She was married to a Bailey Carter,
born c. 1743 in Spotsylvania County, VA, and died after 1811
in Montgomery County, VA. That's about all I know about her
and it's not necessarily a reliable bit of knowledge.

Does anyone have any information on such a Nancy Teague?

Elizabeth, I noticed your post on ancestry.com but also notice that it was from several years ago. Are you still in need of information on your family or have you had any luck? If you are still looking for information please let me know and I will provide you with what information I have regarding your family.

billymartini6977@yahoo.com
