I am searching for information on Alma Teel of 3404 Charlotte Pike in 1944, listed as the Informant on the Tennessee Death Certificate for Martha J Perry Martin of Coffee County, Tennessee, dated November 1944. While the DC reads "Teel" it might of course really be Teal. I am trying to learn more about Martha J Perry Martin's parents, listed on her DC as Mary Ayers and Drury Perry. On her sister Lucy Perry Roberts' DC the mother is listed as Katherine Ayers. They are believed to be one and the same. The Perry family has proved difficult to find in Census records and the parents are believed to have died by 1870, or at least one died while the other, probably Drury, moved on. I am a Boyington. My GF was Andrew Jackson Boyington Jr. also called Janker. I have found some stuff on the Teal side of the family but not much. I am trying to find out any information on the family that I can. I would like to get in contact to see if we could help each other out any. I am also trying to find out any information on the Cobb side of the family as well if you have any information on them.

I am trying to find information on my grandfather, Walter Vivian Clark. He was my mother's father. He was married to my grandmother first but after that was married to Mariam Gray. He taught piloting in Avon Park in the 40s. My mother was Catherine Clark and she actually went to school there for 11th grade in the 40s. I'm not sure if he met his second wife in Avon Park or where. Any help would be appreciated.

Looking for information on a W. Francis (Frank) Teal, born in 1854 in the state of Illinois. He later moved to Arkansas and married a Mary Elizabeth Harris, born in 1859 in Drew Co., Arkansas. They had one daughter named Sarah Harris, born in 1879.
Mary (Harris) Teal also married three other men by the last names of Barber, Gray, and Ellis. I would like to find anyone with photos of Mary, Frank, or Sarah.

I'm looking for information on a W. Francis (Frank) Teal/Teall. He was born in 1854 in the state of Illinois. He moved to Arkansas and married Mary Elizabeth Harris around 1878. Mary was born in Arkansas in 1859. They had one daughter named Sarah Elizabeth Teal which was born in 1879.

Mary Elizabeth (Harris) Teal/Teall married three other times to a Barber, Gray, and Ellis. The children which were produced from these marriages were Mary Francis Gray, B.L. Barber and William W. Ellis. Mary Elizabeth (Harris) Teal/Gray/Barber/Ellis died around 1900.

I am a Boyington in search of information on my GGGf Thomas William Teal's parents. Thomas William was born 13 Apr 1872 Baldwin, Ala, D. 4 dec 1939 Baldwin, Ala and buried at Boyington Family Cemetery, Baldwin, Ala, on Burgett Lane, between I-10 & Hwy 90. Listed on 1900 & 1920 Census.

Married Lena Foley, (daughter of William Ervin Foley & Elizabeth "Betty" Thompson, both listed on 1900, 1910 & 1920 Census.) B. 28 Feb 1881 Baldwin, Ala, D. 13 Aug 1948 Baldwin, Ala., Buried in Boyington Family Cemetery Elsanor, Baldwin, Ala. Listed on 1900 & 1920 Census,

Their children are: Minnie Teal b. 15 May 1899, d. 24 Dec 1963 is listed on 1900 & 1920 Census, married Andrew Jackson Boyington. Henry Teal b. 1901 Ala, d. unknown, is listed on 1920 & 1930 Census.

Henry married Jane "Janie" b. 2 Oct 1907, d. Oct 1981 Mobile, Mobile, Ala. She's listed on 1930 Census. Their children are: Henry Thomas Teal b. 15 Oct 1923 Baldwin, Ala d. 7 Mar 1991 Mobile, Mobile, Ala. Willis Teal b. 9 Dec 1925 Baldwin, Ala, d. Dec 1971 Mobile, Mobile, Ala. Marie Teal b. 1929 Ala, d. Unknown. Children are all listed on 1930 Census.

William Teal (Thomas's brother) b. 1876 Ala, d. Unknown, married Louise Merchant b. 1880 Ala, d. 23 Apr 1952 Covington, Ala. Both are listed on 1920 & 1930 Census.

Their children are: John "Coot" Teal b. 6 Sep 1909 Ala, D. Mar 1980 Ala. Buried at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Elsanor, Baldwin, Ala. Listed on 1920 & 1930 Census. Carrie Teal b. 1910 Ala, D. Unknown, listed on 1920 Census. I believe both are listed as adopted on 1920 Census.

That's all the Teal info I've gathered so far. My father says that Thomas William Teal was full blooded Native American of the Creek Tribe. I'm having a difficult time confirming it though. I've checked the Dawes Rolls but so far nothing. Could be he's got the wrong ancestor as being Native American.

Any Boyingtons, Teals or Foleys knowledgeable of the Teals mentioned here, I sure could use your help. I am willing to share what I have.

My father had document made in 1994 from the Hall of Names and from what I see, the first record of the Teal name was in Somersetshire, England approx. 1066. It continues to say families were forced to migrate to Ireland and Europe during the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th centries, then to North America in 1654. All of the information is directly from The Hall of Names certificate.

As far as I know the surname Teal is very common in South Wales and came originally from the Welsh/Shropshire border area's.

Do you by chance have any records of Allen TEAL or Margaret McRAE TEAL? Allen was my great-great grandfather William's brother.
My TEAL's are first found in NC and SC and on into AL before the 1850's. Supposedly Allen went on to the Red River TX area but I have not be able to confirmed this.
I've been trying to place my TEAL line/link in TX for some time without success. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Thanks I'll try the site tonight after dinner. The name John is one that was used but not as frequently as Robert, William, James... but Allen wasn't a regular TEAL name either so can't assume anything! Again thanks.

My grandfather was also named Charles Teal and he also was from Michigan. He was in the army and a fine Artist. He married my grandmother Ethel in Louisiana. We are probably talking about two different people but I figured it would not hurt.

What I found online seems to lead me to believe his Father was Cornelious(spelling) Teal.. I am trying to verify that and trying to see if and whom his brothers and sisters were. If I can connect Cornelious to yours and find Cornelious siblings.. Then I will have the lead I need to confirm if he is in my family or not. This may require finding who was the first Teal, Teel, Teale , Teale to come to North carolina. So may take me a good while to make a connection if possible. The Teal's have a long history in England and the surname Teal is listed under the clan Gordon of Scottish history. It seems that it came from several different places!

Robert Teal & Mary Lawrence, Treswell - Sutton

Robert Teal who got married in Sutton cum Lound in 1778 to Mary Lawrence, is recorded of being from Treswell, NTT, ENG and is supposed to have come from Harewood in Yorkshire. In all the trees I've checked online, there has been no source quoted other than other researchers. Does anyone have an original source for this?

Susannah Teal (1812-1889) lived in Fayette Co, GA

Looking for the parents and siblings of Susannah (Susan) Teal, born in SC in 1812, married Perry Hicks in Henry County, GA in 1830. I suspect she may be a relative of Emmanuel and George Washington Teal since they appear to be the only Teals in Henry County in 1830. She lived in Brooks, GA located in south Fayette County, which is not far from old Campbell County GA. She is buried in County Line Christian Church cemetery near Brooks at the Spalding County line.

Does anyone have any information?

Donna a good site to check Texas records is TXGenWeb.com you can select different counties you might be interested in. I went to Red River County and did a search for Teal, there were several that came up, one being John Teal.
