Looking for parents and siblings of Celia McGown who married Job Teegarden and her sister, Nancy who married Aaron Teegarden.. James McGown supposedly the father of Celia and Nancy...I have the Tee:Book so have info on the Teegardens.Job Teegarden and Celia McGown were my 4th Great granparents.Any info appreciated...Thanks, Betty

James McKown and Phoebe Casto were the parents of the two McKown sisters who married Aaron and Job Teegarden. Another one of their siblings Isaac McKown also migrated to Ray County, Missouri, with the Teegardens. The spelling you will most often find is "McKown." Sometimes the records use "McCown." I have almost never seen "McGown" except in the Teegarden book. Of course, some the descendants decided to change things around a bit. That is how my grandfather Clarence ended up as "McKowen" whereas his brother James Edgar remained a "McKown."
