Andrew Teems, Hancock Co., Ohio

Looking for information on Andrew Jackson Teems, b 1826 York, PA. d. 16 Oct. 1862 Hancock Co. Ohio (possibly Arlington). He married Turzah (or Tirzah/Terzah/Tersah) Sharp on 10 Feb. 1848. She is my GGGrandmother. He also married Mary Martha Warner on 21 Aug., 1855. I don't know when the marriage to Turzah ended. I know they had a daughter, Eleanor, b. 1849. Eleanor is on the 1850 census but not the 1860. I'm guessing that she died and her death caused a break up between Andrew and Turzah. By 1855 Andrew had married Mary Martha Warner and by 1860 (possibly earlier) Turzah had married my GGGrandfather Thomas Loveridge.

Does anyone in the Teems families have Andrew Jackson Teems in their ancestry and do you know anything about his first wife Turzah? She is a very big mystery.

Thanks Barbara, I found out my grandfathers name was James Rufus "Doc" Teems. People called him Doc because during the great influenza epidemic in 1919 he was the only one in the area who did not fall sick- so he spent all his time helping the sick families by carrying wood, water, food or medicine to them. He also helped with the starting of the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, North Carolina (1925). Thats about all I know, if you have any information I would appreciate it.
Hi Barbara,
I think I checked on that a while back. I couldn't find anyone by that name. I did find a "Rufus" but it was in the 1800's, not the one Hollie was looking for. I'll take another look around and get back to you. I just got back online since my surgery so I'm a bit behind on my mail. I'll e-mail you on how I did.
