I recently acquired a box of newspaper clippings that included the following clipping from the Cumberland, Maryland, "Times-News," dated Monday, February 16, 1970.

"Benjamin Teeter - Benjamin Franklin Teeter, 73, of RD 2, Flintstone, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient 18 days. He had been in ill health for some time.
Born near Petersburg, W. Va., he was a son of the late Benjamin Y. S. and Emily (Nelson) Teeter. He was a veteran of World War I and was a life member of the Flintstone Volunteer Fire Company and a member of Glendale Church of the Brethren. A former school teacher, he also owned and operated a grocery store in Flintstone and was a timber cutter.
Surviving are his widow, Elsie (Messersmith) Teeter, three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Sack, San Diego, California; Mrs. Mildred Cowen, San Diego; and Mrs. Mary Wise, RD 2, city; five sons, Benjamin T. Teeter, Woodfield; Ollie K. Teeter, Flintstone, Joseph J. Teeter, with the Air Force in Charleston, S. C., Paul E. Teeter, East Canton, Ohio, and Frank C. Teeter, RD 2, Flintstone; two brothers, Blaine Teeter, Flintstone, and James Teeter, Cumberland; three sisters, Mrs. Della Paxton, Clearville, Pa.; Mrs. Genevieve Singleton, of Texas, and Mrs. Vera Henry, Great Cacapon; 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m.
A service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Glendale Church of the Brethren. Rev. John H. Buffenmyer will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. The body wll be taken to the church one hour prior to the service."
