Hi John,

I am researching the Temple's of Union County Ohio. I have not seen the Vestal name come up in my reseach. I am wondering if you could give a bit more info on the Temple children, perhaps some names or maybe an approx. date that Stella lived. Do you know if her grandchildren were from the Union County area?

Thanks, Lynette

I am actually related to Susan who I have lost touch with
during a computer crash.
Susan is a descendant of my own great grandfather's first cousin. Both men were in Arkansas.
Try the Temple site ran by Dr. Park Temple if she does not reply. It is possible that he will know as he has so much information on the Temple family which was actually provided
by Susan and I along with others.
There was a Temple family at Mulberry, Arkansas but they were not close relations to the set that Susan and I claim. However, they did tie to another side of my family.
Wishing you the best in your search-
Linda T. Acrey
Lonoke, Arkansas

Please respond asap on dates of William and Elizabeth McNeely. Also Elizabeths daughter Sarah or Sallie.
Did they all settle in Clinton(Van Buren County) Arkansas? I had an Uncle William who had a daughter named Sarah or Sallie. 15 McNeely families all came over from the Carolinas in the late 1800's and camped along Little Red River and settled in Mt View in the Ozarks. My grandmother was a McNeely who married a Mcneely. Is it possible, they are the same family?

When you get a chance you can check out my Saunders Family Tree on Ancestry.com & let me know what I'm missing. I have quite a bit listed but I'm sure there must be something I'm missing. I just posted a couple of pictures of Wilbur & Lillian you might be interested in if you don't already have them. My Mom, Florence (Saunders) Leonard was pretty good about marking her pictures with names, dates & places but no last names. Please keep in touch-always good to find relatives out there no matter how distant.

We must be distantly related as well.... Lillian Saunders and Oscar Temple were Violet L Temple's (my grandmother) parents...so that makes me their great-granddaughter. I do remember Lillian...she was affectionately known as "little grandma”. Oscar died before I was born and they buried him in Holliston with his mother's family (Stone). Although there is not a marker on his grave, my Aunt Eleanor Pierce placed an urn marking his gravesite. For over 25 years after my mother passed away, I planted flowers in the urn on Memorial Day. Lillian however, was in Maine visiting family when she passed away and they buried her there. I grew up in Hopkinton and went to school with Wilbur's son Norman "Butch" Temple. How can I help you?

Clara Temple

I have found two birth certificates for my grandfather, Vincil Emmett Temple (1904-1990). The first was filed at the time he was born, and the other was filed later in his life when he needed to get a social security number. The two birth certificates are identical with the only exception being the name of his mother. The birth certificate filed at the time of his birth listed "Clara" as his mother. The birth certificate that was filed later on listed "Pearl Susannah Renneker" as his mother. Pearl Susannah Renneker was the woman who raised him. Since Vincil Emmett was the first born child in his family, I believe that Clara was his mother, and that she died in childbirth, or soon thereafter. However, I have not been able to find any records proving this. Vincil was born in St Louis Missouri 26 May 1904. Does anyone know who Clara was? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Betty

I am searching for Frdk. Wm. Temple, my great grandfather. He married Avice Beagley in Farnham, Hants in 1889. The marriage certificate says his father was Henry Temple, Bootmaker, (deceased).

Before the marriage in 1889 and the 1891 Census (where he is listed as Tingle) I can't find any records. He is in the census 1901 and 1911.

A diary has his date of birth as 7th March 1868. He died in Plumstead in 1933. We have searched for him for years. Has anyone any more information? I would be really grateful.

Hello.
Some of my daddy's Temple cousins lived in Taft for a long time. The family left Arkansas in the late 1930's. They married, had children that I never knew, etc.
But if you connect to them, Dr. Park Temple runs a wonderful site and has lots of information some of which I submitted.
Linda T.
Actually there was one but it may not be the one you are searching for.
The daughter was in San Diego at one time. The daughter would be around 50 now I think. I only met her once and her dad was a first cousin to mine. I am now 62 and she was quite a bit younger. But we visited the best we could the one time we met and she was some what interested in genealogy.
You will have to run a search for the name Park Temple as he is the host of the Temple site. It has lots of information there, but if it will relate to you I have not a clue.
May I ask, why do you want to find the daughter??

Hello. It could be you are related to me.
I figured this related to an adoption as I have an adopted son.
The one I was speaking of probably is not your person because who you are looking for is older than me. That Temple girl was much younger.
If you have not checked with Park Temple, now is a good time.
Considering the birth mother did teach school in the California area, she could have been retired for years if she stayed in state as they have a fairly short amount of time required for retirment.
I actually taught in California and I thought at that time, that having a Masters was a pretty normal thing for teaching there. I was hired because I had two years of experience and I started my masters.
Most teachers at that time, if the person had graduated from college in state, had gotten the masters before being employed. So for that reason, I say, she may have been from out of state.
The birth mother could have also been military connected which may have helped explain why she gave her son for adoption. I understand what I mean though you may not.
Lots of considerations.
You may wish to post in the adoption sites and see what comes from that.
Also, unless your dad is desiring to do this, I would not do it.
Migraines do not run in my bunch. All of the Temples that I have known were more likely to have something lung or colon related for health problems.
If it turns up somewhere that Arkansas is mentioned, let me know and I will gladly help.
Good luck in your search.

Hello. Here is some contact information.
Send snail mail to:
Dr. L. Parker Temple III
5826 Oak Leather Drive
Burke, VA 22015-2433
or email at: Park Temple lptemple at cox.net

I think his site is sort of like Temple lines in America.
My original Temple ancestor in the colonies was dropped off in Virginia in the mid 1600's after being removed from a prison in Scotland at the age of 16. Apparently someone disagreed with someone is what I have been told.

All of our grouping has men that are around 5ft. 8 to 5ft. 10. In all of our Temple grouping, the males walk with sort of a shuffle-roll, for real.
The men and women usually have straight noses, except for me-pug, and they are usually very polite well mannered people.
The men usually have a direct way of shaking hands and smiling at whomever they meet. Most of the males keep all of their dark colored hair until the end of their days or it will turn silver.(My brother had red hair like my mother's people.)
If the family member wishes to, most take a very good formal education. They usually pay their bills, go to a Baptist or Methodist church, vote, and look respectable.
So, I would imagine something I said, sounds like your dad.
Good luck.
Linda T.
Just started researching the Temple ancestors in my Partners family & the names you have mentioned appear in our tree for the same sort of dates in Brighton & Hove areas-I have other brothers & sisters for Amelia & Walter, Their Father Thomas also had two sisters that I know of , Elizabeth born abt 1810 & Jane abt 1820 (From whom my partner descends.) Their parents were Harry & Jane.
Please get in touch if you think this may be the right family,
Angela

Paula,
Thanks for your reply. In answer to your question, Does this tie in?- Yes & No!
My Partner's 3 x Great Grandmother was Jane Temple born c1820 in Coombes, Sussex. She had a sister Elizabeth born c1810 in Beeding, Sussex . She married a James Barber born c1811 in Poynings Sussex. It is this Barber connection that led me to believe that Thomas was their Brother, as the 1851 census shows that Thomas has his nephew Alfred Barber age 21, carpenter in the H/H. As Elizabeth & James had a son called Alfred born about 1829 I put 2 & 2 together and have maybe come up with 6!!
Jane & Elizabeth's parents were Harry Temple born abt 1782-1847, Ag Lab born Sussex & Jane, Surname n/k born abt 1783 in Coombe Sussex.
Whether Thomas is linked to this family or not, I don't know but I believe he & Mary had two more children, Harry born abt 1828 & Alfred born abt 1830. This I found from the 1841 census when Harry, Alfred, William, Jane & Charles still lived at home with Thomas & Mary. On the night of the 1851 census it seems that Harry is married and living next door to his parents with wife & daughter both called Elizabeth & he is a plasterer.
Have I got this all wrong & linked up two separate families? What do you think?

Regards,
Angela

I have a lot of information on Alexander who was a gardener at Falkland Palace & his children, many of whom were gardeners at English stately homes. His father who was also Alexander was a gardener in Kinross.

Hi. I have done some research on Alexander Temple (b 1801). He married Frances Hayes in 1823 & they had Alexander, James (b 1834), Francis (b 1838), George, Elizabeth (b 1827), Clarissa (b 1830), Jong (b 1831) Marianne & Sarah (b 1841). Clarissa married James Pollock in 1856 & they had James (b 1861), Francis (b 1862), Clarissa (b 1865) & Robert Charles (b 1870). Francis married Janet McNaughton in 1858 & they had 6 children 1 of whom was my grandmother.

This is quite interesting and would be quite a revelation to those of us who grew up hearing about our Renneker heritage! I have emailed my dad to ask him what he knows, but I doubt he will know if granddaddy never told him. Have you contacted Aunt Beth about this?

Hi Angela

Thanks for your reply. I had a feeling that we had the same family but was not sure. Now that you have mentioned the 1851 census I looked in my records and found that we do have the same family!

I have a little more info that might tie in with yours and will look it out. Temple/Tempel became a bit of a brick wall to me so haven't looked at it for a while. I've not found anyone who actually links to them either!

Contact me again on paulaelheard@yahoo.co.uk and we can talk more.

Bye for now

Paula

Hi Angela

Thanks for your reply.

My grt grandmother was Amelia Mary Ann Temple b. 1845 in Hove and her parents were Thomas and Mary (Barber) Temple. Amelia was the youngest of five that I know about. Her siblings were: William b. abt 1832, Jane b. abt 1835, Charles b. abt 1841 and Walter b. abt 1843.

I don't know anything about Thomas's parents yet. Thomas gives his birthplace as Coombes in Sussex on the 1851 census, he married in Poynings Sussex and the family eventually went to live in Hove. Thomas died in 1871 in Hove.

Does any of this tie in with what you have?

Best wishes

Paula
