She married Carey LaDue 27 Feb 1855 in New York and died 17 May 1899 in Yolo Co., California. I have her siblings as follows: James 17 May 1834; Clarinda 26 Nov 1836; Dorinda 15 Apr 1838; Margaret 01 Sep 1842 and Lancon 8 Jan 1847.

Augustus STALLINGS is the brother to my gg-grandmother Georgia Ann STALLINGS MELTON. According to family information, he moved some time later to Greene County. I have been working a long time on my STALLINGS line and would like to be able fill in some blanks.

According to a family entry online, this Joseph is said to have been the son of Samuel and Eliza (KENNEDY) TENNIS from Kentucky.

Joseph TENNIS b. Abt. 1843 Kentucky Died February 28, 1881 Canada.

Joseph is said to have married Martha KERR in Indiana abt. 1878.

Does anyone have a TENNIS family in/near Franklin Co, PA in the 1830-40 era that knew of or raised/adopted or had a daughter-in-law maiden-named CATHERINE BARNHART. She married Jacob Teach in 1841, and on 2 of her sons' death certificates she is listed (by one son and one dau-in-law as informants) as "Catheraine TENNIS". Why? Was she a adopted child or a widow when she married Teach? On all childrens' marr certs she is Catherine BARNHART, not TENNIS.

I am searching for any information on the Tennis family in Mifflintown, Thompsontown, and Juniata County, PA. A newly found typescript found by Nelson Tennis (of Dillsburg, PA) at the Juniata County Historical Society documents that John Tennis (b. 1723 Montgomery Co. PA), d. 1789 buried in Lock Cemetery, Thompsontown, PA ), son of William Tennis (b. 1689, Germantown, Philadelphia, PA d. 1749) and Magdalena Levering (b. 04 June 1696, Germantown, Philadelphia, PA d. 10 May, 1736) migrated from Montgomery County, PA before 1761 . On August 1, 1765 he bought three hundred acres on Delaware Run, July 20,1755. In 1770 he sold the land to John Kepler, but kept 150 acres “above the old river bridge.”
John had four sons. They were William (reportedly b. 1743, Towamencin, PA, d. not given) Stephen (b.1745 d. 1808), Anthony (b.1750 d. “Went West”), Samuel (b. 1776 d. “Went West”) “William was in the Revolutionary War, and [his name] does not again appear.”
My great supposition that I am trying to resolve is, is this William Tennis the father of John Tennis (b. 1775 in Greenbrier Co, VA (then WV), d. bef. 1822), Catherine Tennis (b. 25 Dec 1782 in Bedford Co, VA d. abt 1865-1879 in Champaign, IL) and Rachel Tennis (b.1788 in Greenbrier, VA , d. 5 Oct, 1855 in Sprigg Twp, Adams Co., OH)

I am searching for a lady named Gladys Tennis b. about 1911 m. John Hull d. 1929 in childbirth or shortly after.

Her parents according to the Minnesota 1920 Census were Harvey Otis (H.O.) Tennis and Lullu (or Lulu) Morrow Tennis.

This is the only reference I have of Gladys and I was hoping someone out there knows of her and her family.

Tennis family in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Am still searching for my Tennis family (Richard & Matilda) who emigrated from Holland around 1852. They went to New Jersey where they had at least two daughters - Petrine & Elizabeth in 1867 & 1869. From there they settled in Grand Rapids, Kent Co, Michigan and had at least four more children who survived - Annie, Jennie, Arthur, and Minnie. Richard was still alive and living with Arthur and his family according to the 1920 census. I've got pictures of a Jay and a Gertrude Tennis and am trying to make the family connections. ANy help would be greatly appreciated.
