Edward P. Cook of Pittsford NY, son of Phebe Rose Terbell

Still trying to locate Edward P. Cook, son of William Henry and Phebe Rose Terbell Cook. Edward was born c 1840 in Pittsford, NY. He was the third of their nine children. The others were Phebe Elizabeth "Libbie" (1837-1872), William Henry (1838-1862), Nathan Mulford (1842-1862), Mary Augusta (1844-1845), Mary Star (1847-1933), Charles Terbell (1849-1858), Hannah Terbell (1851-1852) and Ella Frances (1859-1859).

I believe the parents William and Phebe Rose were born in Suffolk Co, NY but came to Pittsford in the 1830s. William was born c 1808 and died before the 1880 census. Phebe Rose was born c 1814 and died between 1880-1900.

Sister Phebe Elizabeth Cook married Julian Way Geare, son of Benjamin Geare and Rhoda Upjohn Geare, in Pittsford, NY. They had two children, Willie and Minnie, and Phebe died in 1872. Both her children died young.

Brothers William Henry Jr. and Nathan Mulford Cook were in the Civil War and both died of disease in 1862.

Mary Star Cook married Don Q. Alvord of Perinton, NY. They moved to Camden, NY and had 5 children, four of whom were boys who survived until adulthood. Mary died in 1933, and was buried with her husband in Pittsford Cemetery.

The other four children died in childhood.

All are buried in Pittsford Cemetery, except for Edward P. I can't track him down. I have all the Cook family census records from 1840-1930. The Edward P. I'm looking for is not the same Edward P. Cook located in Hartford, CT in the census records. I don't have enough information to tie him to any of the other Edward Cooks listed in the census records. It stands to reason that he may have joined the military like his brothers during the Civil War, but again I don't have enough info. I've checked fultonhistory.com for info, but haven't found much about this family. I've checked with the Pittsford Town Historian, but have come up empty-handed.

I'm losing hope of ever finding him. If anyone has any ideas of how to locate Edward P. Cook of Pittsford, I'd be grateful. Thanks!
Terbell Cook Family of Pittsford, NY 1800s

Trying a long shot here. Looking for info about the William Henry Cook family of Pittsford, NY. William and his wife Phebe R. (maiden name unknown) had several children. Two of the children, Charles and Hannah, had the middle name of Terbell. Another of their children, Mary Star Cook, married Don Alvord and they gave one of their sons the middle name of Terbell. I know William & Phebe were both born in NY in the early 1800s, possibly in Suffolk. They were in the Pittsford, NY census as early as 1850. Any info about this Cook family would be appreciated.

Re: Frank TERBELL Photo

Only recognize the last name. My grandmother was Lucy Terbell, born in 1875, her father was John Terbell (or Jonathan Thurbell on his marriage certificate - spelling wasn't very consistent back then) born about 1830 near Addison, NY which is about 30 miles west of Ithaca. They're probably related, not a very common name, but I have no idea who this Frank is. Hope you find it a home (if you haven't already).

Thank you for replying. This Frank looks to be in his early 30's. The photo was taken between 1870-1890. I can't quite read it but his son's name appears to be Jasen. The J doesn't quite look like a J. So I'd say your Frank was born way before my Frank.-Penny
