Re: Joseph Albert Tetrault's 1st marriage?

Since I posted this inquiry, it has been learned that the name of the 1st wife of Joseph Albert Tetrault was Loretta A Ward. They divorced in Bridgeport CT on 19 December 1919. Their marriage is said to have taken place on or about 2 December 1914, but this record has yet to be found. Does anyone out there have any information as to when and where this marriage took place?

Eugene R Tatro

While I do have William Tetrault and his families in my files, I don't have any knowledge of his descendants. If you are interested in his ancestry which goes back to one Louis Tétreau who was in Canada by 1660, I could provide it. I don't charge family members for my research, nor do I send genealogies (ancestral outlines) out over the Net, but prefer to use the postal service, for which I would need a postal mailing address. I look forward to your response.

Eugene R Tatro (Gene)
P.O. Box 234
West Newbury, MA 01985

any information at all on my father

I am looking for the man who is my father. My parents were not married. According to my mother, Ruth Jones, my father was a man named Joseph Tetrault. They met in Alaska, during WW II, late 1943, spent a couple of weeks together, and she became pregnant. She was from Minnesota, working as a waitress in White Horse. He was a married man at the time. His unit shipped out before my mother knew she had conceived. He never knew that he has a son. He was a private in the US Army, 118th Bakery division, stationed in White Horse, Alaska. The only real information I have about him is from an envelope addressed to my mother with a handwritten return address reading like this: Pvt. Joseph Tetrault, 11087810--118th Bakery, BN. A. P. O. 702, % S.N. 2412, %Postmaster Seattle, Washington.
I want only to know something, anything about my father. I am a happy and stable individual, but have always felt incomplete without this information. Please help.

Hi Andy:

Have searched my so-called data base of over 20,000 names of descendants of Louis Tetreau of Trois-Rivieres (he was there by 1660), but cannot definitely establish the ancestry of your Louis Tetrault-Ducharme. I do not have a Zoe Tetrault born to a Louis Tetrault, nor do I have a marriage of a Louis Tetrault to a Zoe Brousseau in NY State. As you may know, vital records in NY State are as scarce as hens' teeth before 1880, and there were very few, if any Catholic churches in the 1830's. There is a possible connection, however, because I do have a Louis Tetreau born in 1813 in St-Charles PQ, the son of Louis and Angelique (Leboeuf) Tetreau -- and this Louis does have a younger brother Olivier, and I have no data on them beyond their births.. I do not have a Leon or Leandre, however, with sons by these names.

Gene Tatro

Hello Jessica,
My great-grandmother's maiden name was Zoé Brousseau and she married Louis Ducharme at, or in the vicinity of. Cohoes, NY in 1837. I am quite certain that Louis Ducharme belonged to the Tetrault line who lived in the area of St.-Marc-Sur-Richelieu in Quebec Province, Canada. Louis and 2 of his brothers (Oliver and Andrew) left Canada for Cohoes NY about 1831. It was passed down in my family that their father's name was Leon, but I have no proof of that; also, that Leon was of the branch of Ducharmes who had a land grant at St.-Marc-Sur-Richelieu. In tracing that line further, I have been stuck for quite a while. Does any of this information ring a bell with you? I would be anxious and appreciative to know.
Andy Amyot.

My great-grandfather (LOUIS TETRAULT-DUCHARME) grew up on a family farm located at St.Marc-sur-Richelieu. In the early 1830s he relocated to Cohoes, NY with 2 younger brothers (OLIVER and ANDREW). He probably was born between 1810 and 1816, no later than 1816. It has been passed down verbally in our family that his father's name was LEON and I wonder if it could have been changed from Leandre or something similar. In 1836/7 he married ZOE BROUSSEAU at Cohoes, or it's vicinity. A few years' later, he purchased a house at 3 Oneida St. in Cohoes, where he lived until his death in the early 1850s. His wife sold the house to my grandfather, Bruno Amyot, who married their only daughter. She then moved to Kankakee, Illinois to join her family who had relocated there. Can you help me establish the ancestral line for my greatgrandfather, LOUIS TETRAULT
DUCHARME? Thanks. aamyot@mindspring.com
Hello Gene,
Thanks for the info. My Louis Tetreault-Ducharme must be the one who was born in 1813 in St-Charles PQ because the date seems right and St. Marc or St. Charles would definitely be right. Would you happen to have anything on a Tetreault-Ducharme who married Marguerite Petit dit Beauchemin, or Marguerite Amyot, in Vercheres between 1845 ad 1855? Marguerite is my great-grandmother. After my great-grandfather,Joseph Amyot, died in Vercheres she remarried a man named Nicolas Tetrault-Ducharme there.
aamyot@mindspring.com

Hi, I'm trying to find info on Louis Jean Baptiste BILON who came to US from France in early 1900's. He later sent for his bride (arranged marriage) Rosa Mathieu. Louis and Rosa were married in Findlay, OH on Feb 8, 1912. They lived in Billings, MT where they ran a dry-cleaning business. Rosa was my Great-Grandmother, but Louis was not G'ma's child. I need to find out how to research HER family in France and since this was arranged marriage, I'm assuming the Mathieu's and Bilon's were "connected"? I don't know much about doing Genealogy online, so could you PLEASE email me directly at: lkparchen@aol.com
I'd appreciate ANY help or suggestion you can offer!
I know it has been a long time since your response, but I have been ill and did not have internet access. I realize that there were no connections "in Illinois of Tetrault-Zini families. However the young woman who disappeared in 1953, called herself Rosalie Tetra-Zini, as if these were both surnames and she was not from Illinois and may have even been from another country. She did have an accent, was about 13 in 1953, but was only visiting or had been kidnapped to this place in Illinois. She seemed to think that her family names were extremely important and that her position would protect her, but it did not. If you know anything about her family, please try to contact me again.
Thank You
Beverly Smithson
