A major finding has been made by Mlle. Josée Tétreault, a life-time-award member of L'Association des Descendants de Louis Tétreau headquartered in Marieville, QC, Canada. Through her efforts, the baptism of Louis Tétreau has been located in the parish and village of Tessonnière, diocese of Luçon, in the ancient province of Poitou in France, and in the present-day department of Deux-Sèvres. The baptism took place on 8 January 1631. His parents were married in the same parish on 20 August 1620, but the priest was apparently a man of few words because he made no mention of the bridal couple's parents, who would be the grandparents of Louis. Tessonnière lies about 20 km north Parthenay FR, which in turn is about 50 km west of Poitiers, a major city in west-central France.
