Harvey Regal
Harvey F. Regal, age 88, of Marshfield, died at 8:05 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2002, at the Bethel Center, Arpin.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Hansen Funeral Home. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Thursday. The Rev. Gary Russell and Rev. Mark Lafferty will officiate. The American Legion will conduct military honors.Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the Pine Lawn Cemetery, Milwaukee.
Mr. Regal was born May 13, 1913, in Marshfield, a son of the late Ernst and Mary (Lohse) Regall. He attended school in Unity. As a young man Harvey worked on various farms and also as a cheesemaker. Mr. Regal entered the U.S. Army April 22, 1942, and was separated as Corporal, on Jan. 8, 1946. He served during World War II and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Service Ribbon w/bronze star, American Theater Service Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was married to Katherine Kister on Feb. 16, 1946, in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on Dec. 25, 1977. He later married Marlea Thayer-Cook on Jan. 2, 1979. She died Aug. 22, 1999.
Mr. Regal worked in home construction as general contractor and mason; he also worked for Geis Overhead Door until retiring in 1976.
Harvey was a member of the Missionary Alliance Church, Marshfield. He was formerly a deacon at the South Milwaukee Assembly of God Church.
One son, Donald Regal, Clearwater, Florida, one daughter, Kathleen Dieck, Racine, five grandchildren, James, Michelle and Ron Dieck and Jenny and Jeff Regal, lovingly survive him. Seven siblings, Frieda Brownlow, Mlwaukee, Hazel Regal, Milwaukee, Edward Regal, Waupaca, Ferne Held, Waupaca, Leona (Arnie) Frey, Sun City, Ariz., Benjamin Regall, Spencer and Ruth (Lavern) Reigel, Marshfield, further survive him.
One infant son, Ronald, two brothers, William Regall and Paul Regal and one sister, Norma Grein, preceded him in death.
A memorial will be established in Harvey's name at a later date.
