Leopold Theroux, b 28 Nov 1867 St Michel, Yamaska Canada

Leopold is my Great-Great Grandfather. I know he married Hermeline Desrosiers in 1889 and had 5 children. One of them being my Great Grandmother, Antoinette. Hermeline died in 1900. He married again in 1900 to Laura Dionne and had 13 children. Laura died in 1939. I am looking for a death date for him. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Kathy

Hi, I saw your thread and was wondering if you received any information? My great grandparents were I think from Trois Rivieres, Theroux and Bernier.
I was told when I was a child that there was Indian blood in the family, but I have not found anything. Just wondering if you have found anything, or how I can find that info out.

The Joseph Theroux that Judy Krug was looking for was found in the LDS records in Salt Lake City. This Joseph Theroux married Mathilde Parent February 14, 1860 in St-Michel d'Yamaska, Quebec, Canada. One of their sons, Louis was my grandfather. This Joseph Theroux is not listed on Ancestry.com that I could find.

Hello: My mother's father was Joseph Theroux born in Massachusetts, 1890. There is some question of his parentage due to fact he was raised by another family in Taunton, MA. I so want to find his ancestors. I know that his parents came from Canada. His set of parents were either Gilbert Theroux Malvina L'Abbe or Louis Theroux Malvina LeClerc. I am a decendat of the Theroux Line on my Paternal Grandfathers side. I have made a connection to Andre Theroux who married Jeanne Petit. A had a son Antoine who married Magerite Laforest in 1706. I have managed to follow the lineage to Andre who married Margerite Trudeau (date not known) also how many children they had. At this point the trail stops. However I beleive that there is at least 2 more decendants between Andre born November 30, 1787 and my Grandfather who was born in 1884. And came to the U.S. in about 1904 and married Ernestine Daigle in Fall River,Ma. I hope you can help me slove my search.

Here is what information I have. If you would like more details (i.e. wives parents, etc.), please let me know.

* Andre Theroux-Laferte married Jeanne Petit (I didn't have a date for this).
* Son Antoine Theroux-Laferte married Marguerite Laforest on 10 Jun 1706 in Notre-Dame, Montreal and had 7 children
(Pierre, Joseph, Paul, Marguerite, Marie-Genevieve, Andre and Placide-Joseph)
* Son Andre Theroux married Jeanne-Therese Pelissier-Lafeuillade on 19 Jan 1750 in St. Michel, Yamaska and had 9 children
(Pierre, Joseph-Andre, Paul, Francois, Marie-Agathe, Joseph, Andre, Joseph and Antoine)
* Their son Andre Theroux married Charlotte Maclure on 20 Jul 1778 in Yamaska. The only child I
have listed is Theophile.

Need information on Joseph Theroux of St. Michael's, Yamaska, Quebec. Thought to have had at least 3 sons, Louis, Omer, and Aime, possibly a daughter named Georgine or Georgette. Louis Theroux immigrated to Minnesota to a French Canadian settlement of Terrebonne between 1875 and 1879. He became the father of 19 children. Any help appreciated.

He married Minnie Breault (who incidentally was a twin as well). I know that Joseph left home in his early teens and settled in Cape Cod, Mass and then finally Chicago. Winnipeg (Red River Colony) in those days, and
married Angelique CARON. most of his siblings
did as well. What I don't know is: did the
parents go out west, as well?
