I am looking for any information on Johann Recktenwald. I have two documents, the first written in July 1863 in Paris states he was age 60, a postman living in Neunkirchen. The second, a birth record of his granddaughter, written on April 28, 1865 in Paris states he is age 66 and present for her birth. The first document is a marriage agreement for his daughter and was written by a notary, Mr Goeckel?, of Ottweiler. It lists Johann's wife as Maria Magdalene Thimes(Thinnes?) deceased in Prum(?), Prussia before July 1863. It further states his daughter was born in the Grunbach(?) district of Sarrbrucken, Prussia on 11 Feb 1835. I know that before deciding to marry she was in a convent ready to take her vows to become a nun . Her name if listed as Sophie Recktenwald in the document and it may be that the name Sophie was given to her at the convent and not her birth name, I do not know. She married Herman Johann Follmer(born Rodalben, Rheinpfalz) in Paris, France on 30 July 1863. They coninued to live in Paris til immigrating to the US. If anyone has any information they can add to this I would appreciate it very much. ANy help appreciated.
