There is still a fair amount of mystery surrounding Annie Thom and her life before coming to Edinburgh.

In 1926 Annie moved to Edinburgh from Huntley (unconfirmed) with 4 of her Children Alistair, Jean, Catherine & James.

Indeed the greatest of these mysteries may well be the identity of Alistair & Jean both of whom were (as far as we are aware) her children.

Catherine and James always new Alistair & Jean (Jeanie) as her older brother & sister. We have been unable to confirm the identity of both the older sibblings, (no birth certificates etc.)

We have found various census connections which shows a Jennie ''McRobbie'' living in the same house as Annie in Kinnethmont, Aberdeenshire.

Family legend has it that Alistair & Jean moved to Glasgow not long after arriving in Edinburgh and that Alistair became a missionary in Africa?

There has been no contact with then since 1929!

Mystery also surrounds the father(s) of Annie's children: -

Alistair (surname unknown) possibly Robertson

James Thom, (possibly Robertson or McPhee)

Catherine McPhee Thom (residence 1912 Torry Street, Huntly, Aberdeenshire)

Any assistance with the above queries would be greatly appreciated as we have found our selves stuck after many years of research
