Thompsons in Missouri, Arkansas

Any information on William THOMPSON and his family appreciated. William was born in 1889. His family is recorded in Pemiscot County, Missouri, in Virginia Township in the 1920 census. While he died in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, in 1938, he was buried in Braggadocio.

William's parents were James and Sallie THOMPSON, and the family apparently moved from Tennessee and then back and forth between Missouri and Arkansas. James was dead by 1900 when his widow was recorded with her children in Lawrence County, Arkansas. She was back in Little Prairie Township in Pemiscot County, Missouri, in the 1910 census, remarried to Daniel RUMINER (maybe spelled wrong, census handwriting difficult to read).

Siblings of William THOMPSON include Thomas (b. 1881), Minnie (b. 1885), Luther (b. 1886), Florence (b. 1891), Bertha (b. 1892), and John (b. 1895).

Any info on any of these people or their families appreciated.

Latter she married a gentlman by last name of Payne. They were living in Dallas TX in 1942, when Clara’s mother Mildred (Fellers) Hunter, died there on 1 October 1942 while visiting Clara, Mildred along with her husband James, is buried in Sedalia, Pettis Co., MO. Clara's Father, James, had died in 1929 in MO. She had two younger brothers Russell and Aubrey Hunter

Hello, My Isaac W. Thompson was born around 1847. he was listed in the 1880 census as living in Lamar county. I dont know where he came from before that. he listed his wife as Sarah and she was from Georgia. my great grandfather was Jerry Munroe Thompson. I know that sometime in the 1900s they moved to Dallas Tx. on his death certificate his father was listed as Rice and his mother as Sally. his brother Benjamins Death certificate lists his father as Rice and mother as Oneal.

George Mimard Thompson

I am searching for the parents of George Mimard Thompson, and any other information available. George was born June 13, 1862 in Arkansas and died June 28, 1916 in Needmore, Arkansas. His wife was Mary Elizabeth Tidmore born March 27 and died August 3, 1933 in Arkansas. They had 8 children, all born in Arkansas. I can supply the names if anyone is interested. I have no clue as to who his parents or other relatives are. The 1900 census shows both his parents born in Tennessee. The 1910 census shows his fther born in Tennessee and his mother born in Mississippi.

Also, if anyone has more information on Mary Elizabeth Tidmore, that would also be appreciated. I am stuck at this point.

One of my ancestors was a William THOMPSON who was born around 1741 in Govan, Lanark, Scotland. He married Martha WALKER who was born around 1745, also in Govan.

Two of their children are known: Isobel, born 21 APR 1767 in Govan and Sarah, born 09 AUG 1768 in Govan.

I am descended through Isobel, who married George PYE in 22 Dec 1783 in Edinburgh.

I would like to hear from anyone who is also descended from William THOMPSON.

I would also like to hear from anyone who is researching the THOMPSONs from Govan.

Josiah DURDEN b. abt 1775 in Virginia

He was in Warren County, Georgia by 1793, along with Jacob, John, Jesse, Elisha and other Durden/Darden's. Josiah bought and sold land in Warren, Jones, Baldwin, Wilkes and surrounding counties until about 1820. He received a land grant in Autauga County, Alabama in 1817 and had moved there by 1821.

With his first wife (Rebecca WATSON) he had several children including a daughter, Susan, b. abt 1807 who married James THOMPSON. They moved to Autauga Co., Ala in early 1820s with Josiah Durden.

Although I don't see the conection to the Thompson family, I am delighted to find somebody new who actually has info on Josiah! I am a direct descendant of Josiah and am trying to fill in the blanks! My mother's father was James Robert Durden and I have lots of info from that point on. Tell me how you are related to Josiah - we are probely related. Would love to know how we fit in with the Thompsons.

According to a Thompson family report, he has a hair wreath constructed by Eunice Strickland Thompson (1776-1845) from the hair of her 13 children. I would love to see it and photograph the wreath. Seeking info on family of Uranian R. Thompson (her married name) born ~1835-9 in NY. She lived with Charles (1852) and Elizabeth(1855) Thompson, not sure which was her child since Elizabeth's maiden name was also Thompson.They lived in Chicago in the late 1800s early 1900s. Charles would have died bet 1900-1910 and Elizabeth was still alive in 1930 living with her son Harry. More likely Elizabeth's mother.

I am also looking for WILLIAM THOMPSON married to CHARLOTTE YATES
they were both from Coleraine, Londonderry, N. Ireland
They had a son William born 1845 also born in Coleraine
William and Charlotte were married on the 1st December 1840
In Killowen, Coleraine, N Ireland. She was the youngest daughter of the Late Mr. Yates from Coleraine This marriage was reported in the Belfast News in Dec 1840
William and Charlotte came to South Africa and I am really battling to find inforation about them they are my GGG grandparents
I have been informed by a Mrs Yates from Coleraine, Londonderry in N Ireland that Thompson and Yates also migrated to the usa, she is related to me via Charlotte Yates family line.

Looking for anyone researching the African American or free people of color THOMPSON family, who have resided in Westmoreland County, Virginia for generations. They lived in the Erica and Mt. Holly section of the county, and were primarily farmers.

Some ancestors we would like to know more about:
John Archie THOMPSON, born 1895 in Erica, married 1915 to Lucinda "Lucy" ROANE, daughter of Rhodie ROANE and Laurinda SMITH and died 1949-50.

George W. THOMPSON, Jr. born Jan 1864 in Westmoreland, married 1885 to Millie JONES, daughter of Preston and Nancy JONES and died between 1910-1920.

George W. THOMPSON, Sr. , born before the Civil War, and his wife, Mary (ASHTON?)

Thompsons, Greenwood Cemetery, Old photo identification help needed!!

Looking for any Thompsons still living that may be able to help in identifying some very old photos, many! I have a book which was compiled by Jessie Thompsom Johnston in 1978. I understand there were only 7 or so books made. My relation is through the Trawin/Thompson connection. My Great Grandfather, Ernest G Trawin married Eva (Evelyn) Thompson, daughter of Edwin Harold Thompson>son of Ashael Chamberlin Thompson and Jane (Nealy) Thompson. I have several photos which I can't identify that I believe are of the Thompson family, as well as original news articles realted to the death of Edwin Harold,anniversay of Edwin Harold and wife Rosalie (Burroughs) Thompson and the George and Lura Washington(?)Home, also articles relating to the death of A.J Dietz, and one of the Historic Walkington home (this one more recent from 1980 and I believe it is the same home referred to as Washington Home, perhaps a typo in one of the newsprints. Samuel G. & Lillian M. (Brubaker) Thompson

I am looking for more information on the above two people. Lillian lived 1894-1946 and Samuel lived 1892-1940.

Lillian committed suicide by jumping of a bridge in Salem, Oregon. According the family history/rumor, she did that because she has been despondent for some time over the death of Samuel. I'd like to see if anyone else has further info on this.

Also, I was hoping someone might have pictures of Samuel and Lillian. I only have a few of Lillian, and they are all from the same time period.

Searching info on family of Andrew Thompson, 1803-1886 born in KY. In 1815 his family perished in a fire which he and his two sisters survived. In 1825 Andrew moved to Lawrence Co, IN; 1826 married Eliza Cummings 1810-1891 who was born in TN. In 1845 they moved to Salt Creek Twp, Jackson Co, IN; were parents of 12 children, most staying in Salt Creek Twp. Andrew was a farmer and licensed preacher.

Andrew was my husband's great great grandfather. John E.R.'s brother Andrew T. Thompson,1843-1919 was my husband's great grandfather. There are several photos on my Thompson family tree. I am searching for info for the Kentucky family of Andrew Thompson, born in KY 05 Jan 1803 possibly Daviess County, died 29 sep 1886 in Jackson Co, IN. According to Andrew's obit, he was left an orphan at age 12 (circa 1815), apprenticed as blacksmith trade in Louisville a few years, worked at the trade in New Albany. At age 20 (circa 1823) he and his two surviving sisters moved to Lawrence Co IN. There he married Eliza Cummings, moved to Jackson Co IN in 1845. He is buried in Thompson Cemetery, Jackson Co, IN.
