A bit more on these Thompsons - Alfred Rupert Thompson the only child of Alfred Charles and Edith Helen Thompson was an ANZAC in 1916 to 1919 and likely fought at Poziers in the Somme Valley and Ypres in Flanders. I also found his 1918 draft registration card showing his date of birth as 4/7/1886 and living with my grandmother in Neosho Co. Ks. in Chanute. It shows his occupation as transportation. Further, I have a 1920 Federal Census showing him living with my grandmother, still in Chanute, Ks. as being born in Nebraska. He disappears after that, sometime between March and December 1921. His son, my father, Lawrence Eugene Thompson was born 12/21/1921 in Coffey Co. in or near Burlington. My grandmother was Julia Florence (Sheets) Thompson who was from Burlington also. My name is Diana Surratt. I have been searching for my father Joseph Little and his family for over 20 years. I know he had a sister Mary Little (married name is Thompson) who lived in Joliet, IL that we used to visit. At the time I did not know Mary was my father's sister. I do not remember her husband's name, only that I think he was a security guard for Joliet Prison.

My mother's name is Margaret Steele. She met my father Joseph Little in Cairo, IL. I was born in Glen Rogers, West Virginia.

The only other information I have is his father's nickname was "The Judge" so I have been told.

I met my father when I was 13 years old in Cairo, IL. I think he was married to a woman named Sally and they had a baby with them. They called her Beck or Rebbecca.

Mrs. Ada Byers
Mrs. Ada Thompson Byers, 63, widow of Bert Byers, died Sunday everning at Providence Hospital.

She was employed at Esmond Dairy and resided with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd B Byers, 615 McEwin St. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church and of the Ladies Auxillary of Eagles Lodge No 0444.

Surviving, in addition to the son, Lloyd, are another son, Abe Byers, Sandusky; three daughters, Mrs. Dale Taylor, Sandusky, Mrs. Glenn Brennan, Avery, and Mrs. August Chill, Monroeville; 19 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; her mother Mrs. Alice Thompson, Vickery; one sister, Mrs. Ross Parcher, Castalia; two brothers, John and Charles Thompson, both of Vickery; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Her husband died December 7, 1944 and a son, Melvin died in 1918.

Friends may call after 7 o'clock this evening at the Frey Funeral Home, where services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev Ralph Strobel, officiating. Burial will be in Parkhurst Cemetery, Townsend Township.

Looking for any descendents of the above couple who were married June 2, 1906 in Junction City, KS. Frank was 23 years old and from Knoxville, TN. He may have been in the military, stationed at nearby Ft. Riley. Lulu was 18. Her parents were John H. Heffer and Eugenia Anne Oliver. "Annie" Oliver Heffer was my great aunt and the last record of her was the 1930 census when she was living in Cumberland, MD with her son, William Everett Heffer and his wife, Florence Howe Heffer.
