GRAFTON-James W. Thoresen, 86, died Friday at the Pine Rock Manor in
Warner after a period of declining health. He was born in Pinconning, Mich., the
son of Jens and Nanny (Olson) Thoresen. He was a master sergeant in the
U.S. Army during World War II. He lived in Westwood, Mass., until 1980
and later moved to GRAFTON. Thoresen owned and operated Thoresen Forms
Inc. in Hyde Park, Mass., Survivors include two sons, Jens Thoresen and
Joseph Thoresen, both of Grafton; three sisters, Sissy, Margaret and Dorothy,
all of Michigan; three grandchidlren; and nieces and nephews. His wife,
Josephine (Lyons) Thoresen, died in 1991. Calling hours will be held
tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Emmons Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St.,
Bristol. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
The Rev. Thomas Warner will officiate. Burial will follow in the Homeland
Cemetery in Bristol. Donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimers
Association of Vermont & New Hampshire, 10 Ferry St., Suite 427B,
Concord 03301.
