THORNS in Cheam, Surrey, England.

The THORNS family were apparently associated with Cheam for approximately three hundred years, apparently starting with John THORNS who arrived as an assistant priest c. 1630 and ending with the passing of John Henry THORNS in 1931 (the other members of his family having dispersed into the surrounding towns and village).

The line of the family I am interested in descends from Henry THORNS (1790-1868) who had the butcher's shop in the High Street and I would rather like to be able to link Henry back to John. If anyone has any information that can help fill the rather large gap I'd be interested.

I have a Mary Ann Thorns, sister to my gfather, born1866
Staffrodshire, West Bromwich, appeared in UK census, 1871.
will advise if I find others.

1948, Pittsburgh, PA. I've been trying to confirm his marriage to grandma, Elizabeth Powell, in 1883

Seeking info. on grandfather Thomas Thorns, born about 1854 in Wolverhampton England. Migrated to U.S. about 1874-1880.
Before coming to U.S., he was a coal miner, and a boxer. He settled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and married his Welsh sweetheart, Elizabeth in Pittsburgh, PA.

I have a Mary Ann Thorns born 1831? in Kidderminster and married to Henry Whitfield in Stourbridge 1854. Her parents are possibly Jas. and Elizabeth.

Edmund Laurence Thorns, 77, of El Cajon died Jan. 27. He was born in Inglewood and worked for Bank of America. He was retired from the Navy and was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Louise; son, Dan of Moreno Valley; and one grandchild.
Services: 1 p.m. tomorrow, with military honors at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, Point Loma. Donations: Alzhiemer ' s Association, 8514 Commerce Ave., San Diego, CA 92121. Arrangements: Erickson-Anderson Mortuary.

The family is Samuel Thorns. He left England (somewhere) in early 1800's with his wife Elizabeth and children. They landed in Kentucky. I understand that Samuel died there in 1825.

I looked in the FamilySearch. I used the children's names that were giving to me, and using the parent's name I found that they came from Yorkshire.

Does Samuel Thorns and Elizabeth Parkinson sound familiar?

Searching for any information on OPHELIA, possible wife of Alex of Gordon in Scotland, UK.Possible second husband, as first husband beleived to be Captain Sinclair / St.Clare.
Also, any links to Dixons from this appreciated.
