I am searching for a Becky Thornsberry that lived in Shep Ky on 2nd street . She would be around 37 years old now and she had a daughter. Her parents took her to the "country" when she became pregnant. The father was Jesse Key and I am his wife he has always wanted to know what happened to Becky and their child. I have in my tree a Tibe Thornsberry daughter of John Thornsberry and Jane Webb. They are all from Floyd County Kentucky. If this the one you are talking about I have a lot of information. I am related through Andrew Thornsberry ( my grandfather) brother to John Thornsberry

It looks like I am related to you on three sides. Martin Thornsberry (my great grand father) was a borther to John who married Jane Webb. Their daughter Selinda married Sam Slone son of Jim Slone married Frankie Smith, son of William Slone and Sally Casebolt, William was son of Shadrick and Kathy Reynolds.
Shadrick their son (Big) Isom Slone married Frankie Triplett.Their son A J Slone married Loueyes (sister to Frankie Smith) is my great grand parents their daughter Rosie married Andrew Thornsberry. If that isn't enough of the family intermixing Martin married Rutha Hall
Now a little more Selinda and Sam's daughter Pherdona (Donie) married my uncle Kay son of Andrew and Rosie Slone. Their son William's daughter Ella married my uncle Manis brother to Kay. I know alot of Sam's children how are you related. You can e-mail me at jbillock@juno.com

Jessie "Denton" Gregory
His obituary in the Rowan County News of Nov. 31, 1994 reported "Jessie Denton Gregory, 73, of Morgan Fork Road, Clearfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the St. Claire Medical Centerin Morehead after an extended illness.

He was born Nov. 25, 1921 in Rowan County to the late Eli and Ada Smedley Gregory. He was a member of the Church of God and worked for Lee Clay Products and Morehead Limestone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Austin R. Gregory and Howard Gregory, and two sisters, Hazel Thornsberry and Nannie Wright.

Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Brown Gregory; three sons, Ray Gregory, Donnie Gregory and Bobby Gregory, all of Morehead; two brothers, Clifton Gregory of Shelby, Ohio, and Joseph Medford Gregory of Georgia; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were scheduled for Dec. 3, at 1 p.m., at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead, officiated by the Rev. Russell Reynolds and the Rev. Gilbert Quesinberry with burial at the Baldridge Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ray Gregory, Bobby Gregory, Gary Gregory, Brian Stephens, Denver Forman and William Goodman."

My distant cousin, Hazel Marie Gregory (fa: Eli Gregory mo: Ada Smedley), married a Thornsberry and had at least 2 daughters, Lowan and Wanda. Hazel was born December 23, 1919 in or around Morehead, Kentucky. I'm guessing her kids were too. I need any information I can find as what I've posted is all I have. I don't even know if Hazel is still living. If anyone can help me, I would definitely appreciate it.

I understand that william was born in floyd co.I have been told that his fathers' name was Doc Hall.His mothers' name was Temp Webb. My Grandfather is buried at the mouth of Jacks creek (the cementery is on the hill).My Grandmother Mary Ellen Thornsberry-Hall was also born in floyd co.She was the daughter of Johnny and Tibe Thornsberry .I think she died in 1958.Any help will be greatly appreciated.

hi, I am researching my husband's mother's family line. My husband is John Mccollum, son of John McCollum Sr. and Brenda Lee Thornsberry born-1949. Brenda is the daughter of Alka Thornsberry born-1908 and Bessie Rowe both of Kentucky. Alka was the son of Tom/Thomas Thornsberry and Melvina Justice. Tom was the son of John Bud Thornsbury and Sarah Pitts.
