Albert Irvin Thornton Born: Mar 6, 1871 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Died: June 5, 1951 in Bracken County ,Ky. had a George B. Thornton and a Maggie I. Shanley listed as parents on his death certificate. This information was given by a son Oscar Thornton Born: 1916 in Parkersburg, WVa. I found a census with a G. B. Thornton and a Maggie I. Thornton and linked it to a Green Berry and a Sarah Margeret Thornton both with the same birth years as George B. and Maggie I. Thornton. Could Albert have been an adoptive son? Or a close relative? Albert also had a brother named Perry Oliver Thornton Born: 1900. Since G. B. and Sarah Margeret (renolds) only had 5 living children and none by the name Albert or Perry; where did they come from? On a census for G. B. Thornton it lists a Harry Spates as an adoptive son, could they have had several adoptive children? It's driving us crazy as Albert I. Thornton is my husbands grandfather. Very little was ever discussed about the past and finding any help would be greatly appreciated !!
