Thurstons in IL in 1836
I came across an excerpt from the Alton Telegraph, Mar 1836 on the web page genealogytrails.com/ill/madison/thealtontelegraphmarch1836.html
It concerned a legal matter which seems to have arisen from a divorce or seperation.
"Daniel Tolman vs John Todd Thurston, Harriet E. Thurston, Mary Nash Thurston, Amanda F. Thurston, Henry Clay Thurston and Ducas Tolman"
I discovered in the IL marriage database that Daniel Tolman married a Dorcas Thurston on 8 Apr 1834 in Madison Co., IL.
In a book on the Presbyterian Church of Alton, I also located Samuel Thurston and Dorcas Thurston (his wife) as some of the original members on 19 June, 1831 and Samuel was an elder from Jan'y 21, 1832 until his death 16 May 1833.
Does anyone know how these Thurstons fit together?
