Hi, I don't have a Thwaites connection (as far as I know) but I have 2 certificates awarded to Mr F Thwaites in 1935 and 1936 for his front garden. Awarded by the London Gardens Society. I aquired them in amongst some books given to me. I would like to give them to anyone who would like them, preferably someone connected to Mr F Thwaites if they can be found.

I hope you didn't mind me contacting you but yours was the most recent message on the Thwaites message board so thought I'd give you a try.

Best wishes
Corinne
My own family tree is Hursk.

I guess the speiiling of his name coule be Twaites. i am not sure of the correct spelling really. I grew up with thwaites but my mother has told me the Thwaites family added a letter when they came over here. Great great grandparents names were Jane Ellen Thwaites and Joseph Marsham. i am not sure how many kids they had but I do know they had a John Henry Marsham Thwaites and I think there was a Frederick as well. My Great grandfather John Henry married Alice Bexfield(Rix, Rex) married Sept quarter1897. They had John Henry, Frederick R, Charles, Robert Joseph, Edna(Eaton) Thwaites, Alice DuncanSTewart)
all born in Norwich Norfolk E$ngland. I am not sure what year they cam to Canada but I would say after 1914 since that was the year my grandfather was born and he was born in England.
I have managed to get some information but I am still looking or more. If you can help Please contact me.

Pearl Thwaites married Williams

My great grandmother died around 1934 in the Northern part of Arkansas. Her birth name: Pearl Ellen Thwaites. I am trying to locate her grave and identify her parents. Here's what I know for sure, she has a sister named Lillie May Thwaites. Pearl was married to Allen Williams. I know they were living in Clay County Arkansas before she died in 1934. Two of her many children cannot remember where she was buried since they were very young when she died. Pearl was not the first to immigrate to the U.S. However, I do not know who her parents are or where they came from. I can make assumptions like "they came from England" but it really hasn't helped any since I have no other information to use.
If any of you knows my Thwaites family, please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it! I've tried for 3 years with many dead ends. amydmcnutt@hotmail.com

Twaites seems to be the commonest early spelling of the name. Thanks for your posting, sorry but still no connection. Perhaps if you followed some census or BDI records back further we would find common ancestors.

Steve

Hi Christina. I am very sorry but I somehow missed your posting on this forum. Thanks for this information. I would be very grateful for any information you have on your Nan's side of the family. I do have links with Shipdham in the 19th C although I cannot connect all the families yet and I do not recognise the names you mention.

Many thanks

Steve

steve.thwaites@ntlworld.com

Thanks for this. There are relatively few Thwaites from Norfolk so I am sure there must be a link. I don't recognise the names so I think we need to go back a bit further to identify common ancestors. I will keep hold of your details unless you have some more names?

Thanks for this

Steev

steve.thwaites@ntlworld.com
