Tices in Southern New Jersey and Wisconsin

Classification: Query
Surnames: Tice, Madden
I just started doing my "Tice" family history, and I just hit a brick wall after my great-great-great grandfather Robert S. Tice (b. 1825 and d. abt 1900). He lived in (and I'm fairly certain was born in) the Millville, Cumberland, NJ area and married a Martha Madden (daughter of Cooper Madden and Martha Miller) also of the Millville area. One of Robert's sons was Philip S. Tice (1866-1944) who married a Catherine McBride from Ireland, but they were married in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, so the migration west started with him. Anyway, one of his sons was LeRoy Tice, his son was Frederick Phillip Tice, Sr., his son is Frederick P. Tice, Jr., and that is my father.

Now that I got all that lineage out of the way, I was hoping to find some information, if there is any at all, about any of the Tice family prior to Robert. My grandfather thought we were German, but he could have very well been mistaken, as the majority of the Tice's in New Jersey were of Dutch descent. I'm hoping to not only find more solid, verifiable information, but to also (hopefully) connect with any distant relative we may have out there.

Please, let me know if I fit into your family tree, and ESPECIALLY if you have any pictures or documents. Thanks!
