I'm looking for Andreas Tiede aka Andrew Tidy. Although he was born in Germany(we think Mecklenberg), I have him on a passenger list. He and his family traveled on the ship Chace from Liverpool port to New York. He Nautualized in Ohio. He arrived in New York July 1852. On the passenger list he is listed as Andreas Tiede, wife Dorthea, infant Maria, and son George who was 7yrs. On the census that I came across Andreas is Andrew Tidy and Dorthea (Schrader) is Doras Tidy. Have'nt been able to find much on Maria thier daughter. George is my direct line. Another spelling from my grandfather is Tiedy which is my maiden name. George spelled his name Tidy but his wife Charlotte's obituary has it Tiedy.
I know Andrew was a butcher. They resided in parts of Ohio and parts of Michigan. I'm not sure when Andreas left Germany with his family to England. Or how long they stayed in England before they left from Liverpool. Any info that anyone has would be great. Thanks
