I am looking for any information on my grandfathers family. His name was Delbert Rhuble Tillery and he was born in or around Ada Oklahoma. He had 3 sisters, Stella Mae, Margeret, and Mildred and 1 brother John Alvin. I know He was born in February around 1916. He was married once to a Dessa Lucille Richardson whom he had 2 daughters with Donna Jean and Darla Jo. His first wife died sometime in the fifties and he then married Mildred Miculka. Elizabeth and Jane Tillery

I'm looking for information regarding my great aunts Jane and Elizabeth Tillery who arrived in Quebec from England on the SS Sarnia in May 1889. They were orphans, Jane was 14 and Elizabeth 12 - I believe they were due to go to Hamilton, Ontario. Jane married Samuel George McNair in 1892 and later moved to USA, possibly marrying again to a man called Roche or Rocke. Elizabeth married Rufus Chambers in 1899 and lived in East Flamboro, Ontario. She might have remarried, possibly to Karstein.

I worked with a John Alfred Tillery from up north, here in Waxahachie Texas. He is John Alfred Tillery lll. He and his wife own the Book Mark bookstore here in waxahachie. i don't know the number, but it should be in the white pages for waxahachie texas...

Alexander Cole Tillery was my g g grandfather. He was born in TN in 1815 and died in Grayson Co., Texas in 1866. We must be very distant cousins if he is in your lineage as well. I went to a Dallas Tx. library and found a small privatly published book written about Milton J. Tillerys' and his Civil War acounts. Also found some good notes on a Gen. Circles website when searching for info. on my third great grandfather Milton Crawford Tillery.

I'm a Tillery from Southern Alabama. My grandparents are from Georgiana. Sorry I don't recognize any of those names. The Tillerys seem to be hard to track. It is hard to find any information on the family. The only ones I know are Aunts and Uncles. Sorry I couldn't help.

I'm am a Tillery doing search. I'm not sure what line of Tillery's you are from butI come from a long line of Tillery's. Anyways I was in Dallas Tx. the other day and I found a privatly published book about Milton Jarred Tillery, the son of Milton Crawford Tillery. That's about all I have found yet that might help you. Oh yeah, the book was written by a Edgar Charles Tillery if that also might help.

I have an additional photograph, taken as the same time as the third photograph in your post. Harris Tillery was, in fact, Elijah Harris Tillery, my great, great grandfather through Bertie Tillery.
I will publish the additional photograph, which includes the adult children of Samuel and their spouses, as well as two, unidentified children.

Not sure if we're related. My father was born in Carollton, AL and his name was Charles Indurstal Tillery (re:his middle name - how southern can you get?). His parents were Johnnie and Jimmie Tillery. Not sure if this helps, but good luck!

My father (Rest His Soul) was last named Tillery. He was a, "mixed" breed i.e. Cherokee, Irish and African American. He was also born in Carollton, AL, resided in Mt. Clemens, MI and died in Kinloch, MO. Not sure if we are related, but who knows. Sorry for the delay of this post. However I just began to browse and came across it. That's too funny! Where did they come up with those names? I think it had to do with the culture and they may have found it intriguing or important to give their children "important" sounding names. Well, "Mount Vernon" huh? And I thought "Indurstal" was the top of the line. (I think they meant, "Industrial").

Scandal surrounding Catherine Proctor, wife of Henry Tillery

Based on information I've reviewed, it appears as if there was quite a bit of controversy surrounding Catherine Proctor, wife of Henry Tillery. Apparently, she was not the daughter of William (Zimmerman) Carpenter, but his mistress, and there was much scandal surrounding William's will as it related to Catherine. Have any of you heard this?

I don't recognize that name in my list but you never know.

I know what you mean about strange names. My husband's grandfather on his mothers side was named Mount Vernon and they called him Mount. I always thought that was so strange.

I really messed up that posting. I must remember not to post so late at night! lol. It is William H. and his wife Martha TILLERY that we descend from, through his daughter, Emily S. I guess I became confused because the name Sampson occurs in so many generations. Please accept my apology. I believe Wm. H. Tillery's wife was Martha PARKER, but not positive. Martha Parker is the line I'm trying to trace right now. I've just begun working on the Tillery line. Emily S. Tillery married Amon McDonald Hutton. Again, I apologize for my carelessness.
